Obama raises 31.3 million in April
This is good stuff. Obama continues to energize his supporters and is still bringing new ones on board. I'd be worried if I was a McCain voter.
Quote:
New donors in April: 200,000
94% of contributions were under $200
93% of contributions were $100 or less
77% of contributions were $50 or less
52% of contributions were $25 or less
Number of donors to the Obama campaign overall at the end of April: 1.475 million
Number of contributions given: 2,929,000 million
Average donation: $91
Amount raised in April: $31.3 million (plus an additional $600,000 for the general election)
Cash on Hand: $37.3 million (plus an additional $9.2 million for the general election)

You obviously didn't look closely at the numbers, 77% of the contributions were $50 or less and 52% of contributions were $25 or less.
An average of 1 million a day, Obama's fund raising is mighty impressive. Don't you wish you had a Republican or two that could raise money like that, from real people and not exclusively from corporate interests?

BM, is an idiot. In his limited mind all he thinks about when it comes to political donations are the $50,000 Republican fund raiser dinners.....of which he is never invited to b/c the GOP knows he under privileged ass can't afford it.

Bullshit. I tried to meet him when he was in Ohio...$1000 a plate fundraiser; that's what makes the world go 'round. It's pretty to think small donations make a difference, but it's time to grow up boys and girls, they make those lists look however they want them to look. This is big-boy politics, and it takes big-boy money and big-boy power. And the Rev. Obama has got some big-boy cabbage and you know where it's coming from.

I obviously did read it---and when anyone faces tough times--the last thing they do is DONATE

I cant speak for all republicans or conservatives....but the very LAST donation I would ever make....is to any politician or some bloated out of control liberal government.
Bribe money should be taken out of the electoral process......
democrats paying for a pay raise......

Obama used a 21st century grassroots approach to run his campaign which culminated with 1.5 voters (and growing) donating $25 per month. If enough ordinary citizens (millions of them) decide to get financially involved--which they have under Obama, the voters can actually outspend CORPORATE AMERICA!!!

Obama's fund raising strategy is kick ass! I don't think anyone can deny that.

There is going to be a special councel seated to investigate Obamas fund raising, rumor has it 80% of his donors on the internet are fictious nonexistant perosns created by Acorn to funnel money into Obamas campagn.
We're gonna bust this right after he gets the nomination at the convention get ready for it.

You can believe whatever you want if that makes you feel better, Rasta. He's a politician and a moralizer...even his own pastor and mentor said he will say and do what he has to. I'm not being critical, he's doing a good job. But I see no reason to categorize him as anything other than what he is.
