Yep thats right! McCain was not tortured nearly as brutally as other POW pilots. Infact, several POW vets will say the same. Song Bird McCain received this title b/c he was a "Little-Chatty" Mother Fucker and his 32 Propaganda tapes in 5 years! You do know that 32 tapes is a record amongst POW's.
McCain was treated more like a captured diplomat than a POW military pilot.
I bet McCain was drinking pena-colada's while making those tapes, while bad mouthing and denouncing America!! McCain made several deals with the viet cong, mainly agreeing to say just about anything just to get proper medical care b/c HE broke his arms by not ejecting out of his plane correctly; the Viet Cong guards did not injure McCains arms.
Infact, the VC need to be thanked b/c they saved McCain's arms from infection, disease, and amputation by giving him immedidate medical attention, but McCain had to agree to become their PROPAGANDA MONKEY! Of which McCain gladly agreed to...hence the 32 propaganda tapes.
John McCain: The Manchurian Candidate
For nearly two years, McCain's communist handlers kept him isolated from other U.S. prisoners. Because they considered him a "special prisoner," McCain became the target of intense indoctrination and psychological programs the communists had perfected during the Korean War.
The communists were very much aware that POW McCain would be under great psychological pressure not to do or say anything that would tarnish his famous military family and they considered that to be the key to eventually breaking and then "turning" him.
McCain's handlers kept meticulous records of his behavior, including his personal strengths, weaknesses and any special favors he may have accepted while under the pressure of isolation.
McCain's interrogators considered him a "special prisoner." They believed that because he came from a "royal family," he would, when finally released, return to the United States to some important military or government job.
Because he was kept isolated from other U.S. prisoners during these years of captivity, no one, except McCain and his captors, know exactly to what he was subjected or how he responded. Most information in the public record detailing McCain's experience with the North Vietnamese during this time frame came from McCain and McCain only.
