You know, I went into this expecting a simple declaration that this is not true, however in skimming the article, it really doesn't say that 1) Obama is not his cousin, and 2) that Obama doesn't support him.

I mean if someone was claiming those two things, I would be sure to issue a denial, but according to the article Obama hasn't.

See it really doesn't matter. In Kenya politicians can say many things. Two because of the nature of tribalism in Kenya...everyone is considered family no matter how distantly related. I know I read all that, but again, even though the writer wrote tons of stuff, he never said that Obama wasn't the man's cousin.

It was one of those things I thought would have been said simply, then he could have added the stuff about it being "tribal" so in a tribal sense true, but in skimming it, the writer never once really came out and said it wasn't true. The more I read the article, the stranger it became.

Again, I only skimmed the article, so might have missed it, but my point on Obama is there. If an important international politician was claiming both of those things (direct relation and support), I would go out of my way to clarify whether or not that was true.
