John Edwards: Obama will be the nominee
Former contender John Edwards, appearing on Face the Nation, made it clear that he feels the Democratic race is now over:
Quote:
"I think it is likely, certainly, at this point, that Senator Obama will be the nominee," said Edwards, a former North Carolina senator and two-time presidential candidate.
"I think the one thing that [Clinton] has to be careful about ... is that, if she makes the case for herself, which she's completely entitled to do, she has to be really careful that she's not damaging our prospects, the Democratic Party, and our cause, for the fall."
Edwards said Clinton has been making "a pretty compelling case for her candidacy," but "you can no longer make a compelling case for the math." Obama on Saturday took a lead among Democratic superdelegates, and he already led among pledged delegates.
|
Hillary Clinton would do herself and the Clinton legacy a lot of good if she discontinued this hopeless quest and got behind the nominee.

Upton I wonder when Edwards will endorse Obama? Waiting this long makes it look like he wants to be the good guy to whoever was the winner. And then there are those 26 delegates....at one time they could have made a difference.

If you’re really tough, you just save it for when you really need it,” Obama said.

Edwards also said that Christopher Reeve would walk again after Reeve had passed away. I would not look to Edwards for anything other than bad comic relief. In 2004 Edwards could not even get Kerry Robbins, Nc the small town Edwards grew up in.

Hey! I like Edwards ... until I had to hear about his damn grand-daddy and the freakin' cole mines, the haircuts, the poor, blahblahblah... got old quick! BUt I still like the guy.
I like that he has not gotten on the Obama bandwagon. I like that he has kept his mouth shut and allowed the people to decide for themselves whom they should support. All these other dipshit liberals (i.e. Kennedy, Kerry, the mexican guy, (can't think of his name)) have attempted to manipulate the process... I think Edwards has been one of the few who actually respects the American voter.... I like him even more now.

NO, they didn't.... He did it to himself though. He wanted people to forgive him for being rich... like it was shameful or something. Once the haircut story broke - he was done. He began pandering to the poor, and people got sick of hearing about it - me included.

Edwards always pandered. He was a right piece of work from the start and the people of his and my hometown, Robbins, Nc, knew it from the start.
Maybe Edwards can get on here and channel a dead child for you as he did in court.
edit: Kerry, Kennedy, and Bill Richardson all have gone against the will of the voters in their states to back Obama.

I think Edwards is allowing the primary process to play out in the last 6 remaining states. Howerver, after the last primary state is over with, Edwards will probably give his 26 delegates to Obama.
