Nader lashes out at Democrats, defends candidacy - CNN.com

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Ralph Nader lashed out at the Democratic presidential candidates Monday after they said he could hurt their chances of taking back the White House.

Many Democrats fear that Nader, who turns 74 this week, could draw votes away from whoever gets the party's nomination, potentially helping presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain win the White House in November.

"He thought that there was no difference between Al Gore and George Bush, and, eight years later, I think people realize that Ralph did not know what he was talking about," Obama said at a town hall meeting Sunday.

Clinton also said Nader "is responsible for George W. Bush" and called his candidacy "regrettable" during a Boston, Massachusetts, fundraiser Sunday night.

"We can't assume that we're going be able to win overwhelmingly," she said. "We're going to have to fight for every state, and Ralph Nader is a problem."

Earlier, Clinton said Nader -- who says environmental policies are central to his platform -- "prevented Al Gore from being the greenest president we could have had."

McCain doesn't have a chance.

Obama is making shit up again. Nader said there was no difference in the way they monitor the labeling of cigarettes and their warning labels. Interesting that Obama would use this example since he is a smoker. Perhaps he doesn't like warning labels on cigarettes. See Jan - this might become an issue!!!

Nader said he thought there was no difference between himself and Al Gore. Much like what Obama is doing now with his "No difference between me and Hillary" remarks.

Clinton, Obama, and every other Senator/Member of Congress is responsible for G.W. Bush. They Aided him with money and weapons - they killed just as many people as he did. AND NOW they are going to say it's Nader's fault??? Are you kiddin' me?

And just to add, Nader got a whopping 0.38% of the popular vote in the general elecation - so really, what are they scared of? Splitting the popular vote? They can't do math if they call that a split! Raising the bar perhaps? Making the issues count! God forbid. We can't have that now can we?
