Edwards Finally Endorses Obama, Mulls Derby Pick

Former Democrat presidential hopeful John Edwards Wednesday endorsed Sen. Barack Obama’s White House bid, but said he’s still undecided about which horse to pick in the Kentucky Derby, which was run on May 3.

Sen. Obama welcomed the support of the one-term senator who is, thus far, 0-for-3 in attempts to win a post in the executive branch of the U.S. government.

“Coming as it does after nearly all of the primaries are finished,” Sen. Obama said, “The timing of John Edwards’ endorsement illustrates what he often says. There are two Americas: One that backs a candidate in the heat of battle when he really needs help, and another that sucks up to the victor when his triumph is clearly at hand.”

Meanwhile, Democrat presidential rival Sen. Hillary Clinton said, “I’m a fighter, and I remain determined to secure John Edwards’ endorsement. I’ll continue to pursue him up through the convention, and even during President Obama’s inaugural address if necessary.”

You our obviously off your medication. As tempting as an Obama/Clinton ticket may seem, the question is whether or not Clinton could be trusted not to sabotage the election for Obama and his first term, with the idea of running for President again in 2012 against an incumbent John McCain.

During this long, and sometimes bitter, campaign Senator Clinton has given clear indications that she cannot be trusted to reign in her own Clintonesque political ambitions for the good of the Democratic Party.

She has painted Obama as an elitist, she has played the race card on numerous occasions, and more recently alluded to the fact she was staying in the race until June because Obama might be eliminated through assassination.

In short, the choice of Hillary Clinton as a vice presidential running mate, although good on paper, would be disasterous for the Democrats’ chances of winning back the White House in November.

Actually, Hillary should try and become McCain's VP!!!! She votes like a moderate Republican and she uses Rovian campaign tactics. While growing up, her parents were staunch "Eisenhower" Republicans. While Hill-Dog was in her 20's she was a devout Republican Barry Goldwater supporter.

Hillary supporters are misguided, uninformed, drones. Being lead off to the slaughter and Hilary their demise. These are the type of people who put Bush in the white house anyway.

Sounds like since Clinton agreed that the votes wouldn't count she must be a women hater...daaaaamn...and a hypocrit since she changed her mind.

Clinton backers to protest outside rules meeting - Yahoo! News

Clinton exhorted supporters earlier this month to press the Democratic National Committee to seat all Michigan and Florida delegates. A torrent of angry e-mails has been sent to rules committee members since.

Typical of their tone: "You cannot willfully silence the voices of millions and then expect those voices to support you in the general election." "The DNC will never get another nickel from me." "More than ever, you ... are showing your disrespect and hatred for women by your actions."

Considering you predicted she was going to win the nomination and be elected president this year, excuse me if I don't take any of your predictions seriously.

Just check out the title of what must be an embarrassing thread for you.

Could Obama have won without the assisstance of Howard Dean and the DNC? Of course not, and he will not be able the close the deal with McCain even with a five point lead...

According to today's Gallup poll he has a 9 point lead. As you'll notice from the graph Obama has gotten a significant bounce from his Berlin speech.

I am very glad to find that this thread is still active. I know a few people who were once ardent supporters of Hillary Clinton's nomination bid....who now are feverishly attacking Barack Obama.

Given the overall similarity between the two of them when it comes to their stances on the issues, these people are either convinced that Obama will do an admirable job...thereby squelching Hiilary's chances in 2012 OR they are bigots.

Which one fits you flyboy?
