Parents no longer congregate with each other outside. instead they are in their houses peeking through the windows to make sure that the landscapers do a well enough job as to make their property look better than their neighbors.....and now that we are going into the holliday season they will all be competing with the stupid decorations outside.

Bunch of sick freaks! It's like the twilight zone.
What episode of the Twilight Zone are you referring to?

I sub teach and I don't see that many "fatties."

I live in a state that earns high marks for "health" from all sorts of places, regularly and we are an outdoorsy, healthful kinda place.

I don't see the "obesity epidemic" vested interests in the weight loss industry and their handmaidens in the alarmist press tell me I should be.

Of course, it all depends on what you call "obese."

Today, a girl who stands 5' 6" in height and weighs 130 lbs is considered "obese".

Is she?

If you think so, there is something wrong with YOU not the kid.

School however is not the root of the problem. It's their lifestyle at home set by the parents. At a young age they are set in front of a TV "Idiot Box" and use that as a baby sitter. then as they get older Video games are added then to have a computer added to their bedroom. No daily exercise is involved in their routine.

It's the parents responsibility. Not the schools, not the governments, not anyone else's.
When my kids were little they were trained that they only get into the pantry on mom or dad's say so. We didn't have soda pop in the house until they were probably 10 or so (wouldn't now if the wife were not addicted to the crap).

Some of their friends would come over and just start opening cabinets while my daughters would sit, staring at me, waiting for the explosion.

I remember watching one girl, maybe age 10-11 just walk in, rustle through the pantry, then go to the fridge for a juice box...I let her get comfortable, then stepped behind her, took the goodies and the drink away and explained to her how it worked in MY house.

She was shocked...I mean goggle-eyed, open-mouthed shock.

And kinda flabby.

Today, she is anorexic-bullemic...but I don't think that's because of me.

The fattest man in the world, some 1800 lbs, I believe lives in the heart of America.

Well, he lives in Mexico City, and some would suggest that since "wherever there is a Mexican, that is Mexico," others might suggest that Ciudad de Mexico is not, in fact, in the United States of America.

I think this is a good idea.

Too many little fatties running around anyways, and they will all probably expect good looking normal sized people to pay for their appendage amputations due to diabetes.

porkers.

I think it's a good idea to ban soda because it gets those leeches (Pepsi,Coca Cola) out of our schools. The interest of all corporations is money and if they didn't find schools profitable, they would not be trying to place their machines in schools. I for one find it a manipulation of children for profit that they try and place machines in schools.

But I also think they should take it one stop further by using organic foods in their cafeterias.

Your children will not be ingesting steroids, artificial hormones, and antibiotics not tested on humans, for one.

Plus, organically grown meat, simply tastes better. So does the dairy products and Vegetables. It's like biting into a cow that ate nothing but what Nature intended it to eat.
