Teachers as Guardian Angles
Should American teachers be allowed to carry concealed weapons on public schools? This would be only after extensive background checks and intensive training.

All teachers can't be grouped into the threat profile....But for all the rules and laws governing gun posession and ownership, crime has not been diffused. I'm not sure how allowing teachers to carry guns in classrooms will particularly make a difference either. Just an observation.....

Teachers as guardian angles? I'd make a pun, but I won't, for fear of being seen as obtuse

That's exactly what the pack of mange ridden coyotes said as they passed the den of a mother bobcat and her 3 kits to go and prey upon the defenseless den of rabbits left unattended. All it would have taken on the Va. Tech campus would have been "one" knowledgeable, ARMED instructor, and ONE 30 cent round of ammunition to prevent that tragic happenstance from ever occurring. BD

Hey Blue--Va Tech could have been avoided if the attention had been paid to the mentally ill student proir to his total collapse...Attention by the administrators/ instructors at the school....by his family and friends that KNEW he had phycological issues...by the moron gun seller that did not follow the federal laws processing the buyer's paperwork before selling him guns at a gunshow....and the list goes on.

Look at it like algebra, if someone wants to enter a school with some form of malicious intent, whether a student or an outsider they have some math to do they have to figure out the number of threats they will face from staff and student. Since only high schools have resource officers the number of trained personnel to respond to an incident is going to be between 0 and 2 (Trained or experienced only not armed). So if there is an incident there is a response on sight not ten, or twenty minutes out and the person entering that school instead of only having a single resource on campus. So instead of 1+1=2 they have to solve for X
