Is it true that all students, even those just entering our country and special ed students, are expected to be Proficient at their grade level by 2014? ...or else the school is put on a deficiency list?

Wouldn't that mean that ALL schools would be on the deficiency list by 2015...unless they cheated?

NCLB...google. I've been to parents meetings where this has been explained.

Will your local schools have 100% proficiency in 2014? Will any school?

Or was NCLB designed for public schools to all fail?

Each state/county varies...what is proficient for some counties is lacking in others. Anyway....our kids are going back into private so we don't have to deal with that BS.

As a matter of fact I think we can improve education and teachers pay at the same time. But I haven't heard anything happening in 2014.

I'm seriously not concerned that private schools will be effect, they are already excelling above "proficient".

I would think so, since they get to pick and choose their clientele and make it MANDITORY for parential participation (which we all know is the primary need for educational success).

Parents should be responsible for their child's education as well as their whole well being. I gave birth to my kids and don't expect anyone else to raise them.
