That's private school. The kids' school in GA they had mandatory drug testing and the parents had to pay for it. The teachers were paid very well and were awesome. OF course, parent participation was extremely high.

It sounds good O/B, but why're you forced to pay for the teachers drug testing?

We all want the best for our kids. We can only hope they can grasp the fact they're being given a chance to excel,,,and not waste it.

Out of curiosity...how do you KNOW the teachers were "awsome"?

Teachers here are paid handsomely (avg 10 years ago, last time I looked, was $50k...and nothing but raises every year since) and while yes, there are some great teachers, they are a very small minority.

Most are just marking time 'til the next holiday, summer or retirement. The retirement package for teachers here would make a AFL-CIO negotiator blush--in fact, it's putting the state into the red.

Why should your kids be tested for drugs by the school, by the way? Isn't that a huge invasion of privacy? That did not bother you? Yes, I realize your kids were not using...that's not the point. What next, checking to make sure your kids have the right perspective on Global Warming?

And it has nothing to do with wages, by the way. It has to do with jumping throuhg hoops.
