So, exactly what did I dodge there.

I'm just trying to understand your reasoning.
It's comparing apples and oranges (and since you seem, so far, to be relatively intelligent, I'm gonna guess you know this) to say that providing information about a viral diseas "promotes" that disease compared to providing information about how to obtain and use a condom as a means of promoting promiscuity.
I HOPE you know that and are just having me on a bit.
If not, we have a taller problem, one that may be insurmoutable, but for now, let's assume you understand at minimum, these simple issues about rational discourse.
Moving on: so, explain to me how "condom education" does not promote promiscuity, but how "gun education" WOULD promote gun...promiscuity?
I guess I don't see much difference. If you teach someone how to get X and how to use it, what's the difference between that and teaching someone how to get and use Y?
If one such event promotes the acquisition and use of a thing, then it only makes logical sense that the other would do exactly the same thing.
As a matter of FACT, telling kids how to use condoms and handing them out encourages them to try them out, whereas teaching kids about guns tends to give the the knowledge they need to understand that no, it's not like TV...it hurts to get shot and guns can be dangerous.
