I used to believe homeschooled kids would suffer in the social area. "Play dates" and stuff like that just aren't the same as learning to cope with different people, teachers, etc.
Saw this thread and started doing a little research. Amazing how the claims of the "more intellectual" one were shot to shit.
According to different sites, homeschoolers score HIGHER on state mandated test...a large percentage of parents and guardians that choose to homeschool have at least a college degree and their incomes fall in the 40k to 75k range. It is speculated that those making more can afford to use the more expensive private schools.
Funny too, how the NORTHEAST has a very high percentage of the homeschooled.
All that info is available with a simple google search. Links galore. But, I knew they would all be "liars" since they were only trying to protect their pedophile, NAZI asses.

Yes, some DO get into college, but nearly ALL have to take remedial classes before their sophmore year. No stigma there huh ? LMAO
Even right wing nazi havens like like Wheaton College, BYU and ORU, have had to design a curriculum to bring home schooled and some private HS students up to speed.

You may be right about teaching to the test, but, isn't that what most public schools do now anyway?
If you have any kind of links showing the need for remedial classes, I would really be interested in seeing them. In fact, there was a statement from Harvard about just how well prepared homeschooled kids are.
I purposely tried to stay away from the Homeschooling site, HSLV I think it is, expecting it to be biased. If you read the link I provided, that same site was listed as one the LIBERAL parents have turned too for advice.
Honestly, do you think the liberal parents cited in the link are teaching their kids the earth is 6,000 years old?
My kids are grown and while it may affect my grand-kids, I don't really have a dog in this fight. I would rather see the public school system be reformed and kids actually learn more than the abc's while they are at school. Things like learning to adapt to new environments...lessons like some people just grate against you and you have to learn to either take it or kill 'em.() Being exposed to different races, nationalities, etc.
But if some one wants to homeschool, no matter their reason, so what? Why do you struggle so hard to villify it?

Because all smaller governments need to go to public schools, so government can take the responsability of educating our lower taxes from the parents.

Look, not all home schoolers are voluntary idiots or child abusers, but for every parent who for a good reason wants and is able to educate their kids, there are ten knuckle dragging sub 90 IQ bible thumping kooks who are neither able to educate their kids, or have no honerable reasons for wanting to.

Simple....require home schooling parents to get a 4 year degree and teaching certificate, have the kids be examined by a school nurse once a year, mandate 4 years of physical education, and mandate the same lab requirements for science as kids who attend public schools.

Unless a parent has some dubious issues, or is a dumb ass too stupid to educate their kids, this should be no problem
