I'm fortunate to live in an area of quality public schools. Wisconsin's public schools score high national wide overall. Nevertheless, I still wondering if I shouldn't enroll my kids in private school.

When the dutch came to NY we learned about the dutch, irish came to NY, we learned about the irish, what were their requirements?
It IS evident that in the past 50 years America has welcomed cultures from all around the world, This US, this country, NEVER at a loss of cultural education.
We have watched and represented greek, italian, french, russian, chinese, spanish, janpanese, african films and educational studies over the past century...
Intense international study IS offered to ALL students, college students, road scholars, international scholarships are giving our American students Visas all over the globe...
This idea of multiculturalism being a certain and present "need" in our American heritage is a bucketheaded joke!
The liberals understand there is a profitsharing ability invested in social groups while preparing citizens to reject an American title.
The promotion and dedication to catagorized cultural groups as opposed to individualism has degraded class harmony and social grace in this country.
We are becoming a forgotten breed.
Recently, a fat and stupid male hispanic knocked my daughter...(this is HS folks) off a line, when she stood up for herself and decided she wouldn't allow this clod to get away with it, he became loud, aggressive and told her- "tough shit, it's because you're white!"
NIIIICE EH! The black attendent said nothing, the other students said nothing and this swine got away with being a piece of shit.
This attitude...hating whitey is a definite trend, a liberal invented trend that is becoming stronger by the requirements of a multiculturalism...hispanics are illegally packing into our neighborhoods like chattel and suddenly 'whitey' deserves some kind of payback...um...FOR WHAT?
I come from flatbush brooklyn, born in an extremely MULTIcultural neighborhood in the 60's and 70's....since then, hating whitey has not been redeemed or forgotten..
This attitude, this trend has been strengthened and adhered to by our own political officials.
Political officials who advocate selected grouped social welfares, who genuinely promote gender, religious and ethnic resentment and discrimination and then of course bilking millions and millions of tax dollars on corrupted, warped social welfare agencies.
We have extreme leftist socialist groups who refuse to consider one human being can think on their own.
Apparently it takes multiple cultures to represent an American.

Ummm... no. Putting poor kids in good schools isn't going to magically erase all of their other problems. Usually the crappy schools are crappy because of their student body. Now I understand that you want to move school away from gov't control, which makes sense based on the way the counntry is currently being run, but private schools rely on tuition to pay those teachers you think so highly of. At my (poor, public) high school, the teachers aren't there for the money, what they get paid is not nearly enough to compensate for any of what they put up with. They care. They can only use the resources they are given, but we make it work. Private school teachers would cut and run in no time if they had to deal with what my teachers do, esp. if they didn't get a hefty pay raise from it- and the new students' parents would not care enough to give money to that cause.

Find another job that gives you 10 days off for Christmas, about 3 months off from summer, with benefits, and Ill show some sympathy for Teachers...


Allowing parents to have a choice while removing tax burdens from the poor and middle class, would do great for Education in America. Public Schools do not work. Providing Free tuition and Vouchers for Middle Class and Poor Families is all that is needed.

3 months off from summer?
my neighbor is a couple who are teachers ... they work all summer - not a picnic for them ...

... besides that - many schools around here are going year round due to so many Yankee's moving in around here

Growth has put a serious strain on the system here .

... and Vouchers for Middle Class and Poor Families is all that is needed.

Why exclude the wealthy?

Exclude them and their kids have even less chance to learn about average America.

Is desegregation is only good for the poor?

Because the Wealthy pay less taxes. Not to many schools are going year round as youd think. Still, they do get a lot more time off than Joe Factory Job, or Betsy Nurses Aide.
