I am a teacher and so is my wife. I teach math and wood/metal. My wife teaches history. We have between 29 and 35 students in each class. Every spare moment in the wrokday is filled with grading essays, homework and meetings with students having difficulty with the subject. My wife has not taken a full lunch since the beginning of the school year. We both like our jobs and working with the students.

I met dom1 last school year on this political board when recovering from surgery. He said he was a upper grade schoolteacher. I noticed he spent Monday through Friday posting about every 7 or 8 minutes until about 3:30 when the school day ended. He claimed he knew his topic so well he did not need to spend time with students. He must have a gifted class because I have found that even in my honors class students need clarification on assignments and feedback on quizzes, essays and help with subject matter.I wonder if students are able to appraoch dom1 with a question or if he ever actuallly teaches. My wife spends hours teaching students not only history but writing. She reads each essay and comments to help each student grow and improve.

I thought of this forum and wondered if dom1 was back posting all day from the start of the school day until 3:30.I pulled up the board and here he is just like 2006-2007 school year. I know some posters are self employed or have projects with down time and can post durig a workday. I find this peculiar that an upper grade teacher would spend his entire day bickering and insulting over the most mundane of subjects all day.

Would you want your tax dollars to pay a teacher to sit all day writing the crap he writes. Just read dom1 posts and look at his posting schedule 8AM until 3:30 PM. I asked him about this once and he claimed he knew the subject and did not need to spend time with the students and he was a differetn type of teacher. I hope he is not the typical teacher. No wonder so many children are left behind.

I now have a postion on the athletic side of things . . . more money. I spend the majority of my day in the field house.

Oh, and you asked about prep time and I said I don't need prep time for history. I know it better than either you or your wife know your subject. I bet I even know shop better than you, since probably the most advanced thing you will do is have them make salt and pepper shakers.
