Reminds of this asshole in my class named Dylan, he's dumb, mean and has ADD, when we were in a unit on different religions and cultures, he thought Noah lead the Jews out of Egypt!

You nailed it. If I hear the word "team player" one more time I am going to barf meatballs. I am a loner in the biz world. I actually hate having to confront clients because I get over their heads so fast I get bored. I like crunching numbers. Just to appear on the TV show I had to take anxiety meds and put a fan on me constantly (out of sight) to keep me from getting claustophobic. I have fought depression my whole life. It sucks. I am so blessed though. God gave me a brilliant mind but I cannot seem to "corral" it to it's fullest. I do find release in my writing and poetry but I have to be "in the zone" to be happy with my writing. Sometimes I read things I wrote (a few months later) and I wander "who wrote that?" Weird. I am looking for new worlds to conquer.

Wow. This is really a different perspective. Thanks for sharing. As a teacher, I really enjoy seeing how people process things differently. It certainly makes me appreciate what someone with ADD goes through.

It sounds like you are able to manage it (with the occasional IT managing you thing). Fight the good fight and keep up with the creative outlets.

People really are crazy as hell, ADD has almost zero symptoms and the person who was talking about their anxiety obviously has more deep seated issues

Innit odd how all the symptoms of ADD/ADHD are the exact same symptoms you get if you don't discipline your child? What a perfect, nebulous excuse to medicate and likely addict an entire generation of voters. Shitty parenting? Oh, nonono..here give your kid this pill and you'll be a WONDERFUL parent!

My sister's kid attends Public EduFactory, and they took it upon themselves to test him for ADD. I coulda told them up front she's a shitty parent, but instead they "found" that he fit the mold, mandated a doctor's visit, and lo and behold the doctor medicated him. My sister had enough sense to see how stupid it was, but it was too late - she was REQUIRED to leave his medication at school, and they were REQUIRED to medicate him.

I tried to talk her into homeschooling and taking some parenting classes. She couldn't be bothered - not willing to make any REAL sacrifices for her kid, just superficial ones like changing which brand of soda she drank.

Her kids in prison now, which is probably doing him some good since he went in addicted to Ritalin, Meth, H, and whatever else he could buy or steal.

Yay! Another successful Public EduFactory Story!
