Whatever in the world did the parents think they were signing their children up for? Seems to me, that the parents were willing to have a chance to put their kids' face on tv, even being neglectful of the childrens education.

If there is neglect, it was on the parents that they allowed their children to be part of this. Some parents shouldn't have been allowed to have permit to have children.

OB and Rob, I agree completely. It would seem to me that before I ever signed my child up for something like that, I would consult a lawyer to see exactly what I was signing them up for. Maybe they thought it would be like summer camp, maybe the just wanted their kids' face on t.v., or maybe they just wanted to get rid of their kid for two months.
Whatever the case, I am sure the money played a big part of it.

freedom, I can remember raising kids and never would the amount of money paid wouldever cause me to allow my kid to do something that I thought was dangerous. The mere fact that it was all kids with no adult supervision would have scared me to death.

I agree. But, some kids have had to raise themselves...it's sad. BUT, with that said, the parents were't protecting their children's best interest.
