Default unemployment is at 4.5 %

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070111/..._ec_fi/economy

The good news on jobless claims followed a report last week that employers added 167,000 new jobs in December, a better-than-expected showing which helped keep the unemployment rate steady at a 4.5 percent.

After certain amount of time people that have not found new employment are dropped form this list. These are basically 'new jobless claims'...

I always hear this claim, where are these people who have not found jobs? Are they all the ones on street corners with the "Will work for food" signs? Isn't 4.5% unemployment better than 5.8% unemployment assuming this criteria exist whenever there is unemployment?

6.5% unemployment under a democrat somehow is considered "full employment" but 4.5% under a Republican is considered hiding something

I need to take more drugs I guess in order to understand this

Oh, and the other spin I heard was "Unemployment is down, can inflation be far behind?"

Liberals really do have the motto "Behind every silver lining we just gotta find a cloud"

Not to mention all the Reservist called up for active duty, and their jobs went to people formerly on unemployment.

I don't base unemployment on new jobless claims, what is the overall unemlpoyment in the country...no consideration of new or old claims? That is the number I want to know, I really don't give a crap about the number you give.
