I have no clue about Beach condos in Washington. This thread was about rivers in Oregon. If you do not mind me asking where do you live? Are you close to the Oregon/California border?

Sam
I knew if anyone had all the answers about the rivers in Oregon it would be you. The link is the Janurary 2007 issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine. I could not find it online (at least the article) but if you will go to your nearest Barnes and Noble I am sure you can find a copy. The river in question in Oregon is the John Day River. I have no interest in Oregon, I do have an interest in fly fishing and my ability to do so without having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars

Sam, did you stop taking your meds again? Nathan stated at the first that the information came from a magaizen and he stated it up front. He also refered to fishing as a poor mans sport. Maybe you didn't like the comment there. Also I missed completely the link about the Indian guy.

Sam,
In my original post (I started the thread) I stated landowners were trying to deny public access to rivers in Oregon. I used Oregon because the article in Fly Fisherman Magazine speaks of the situtation in Oregon. The same is true in Virginia but the article in Fly Fisherman concerned the John Day river. I did not mention Democrat or Republican, right or left, up or down. I said yuppie landowners were doing this. I also knew, knowing your propensity to always have personal knowledge of any subject posted that you would eventually have something to say on this. But at no time was this directed to you or even about you (Carole King - "You're so vain, you think this song is about you don't you?")

I like to fly fish, good fly fishing is on small streams that one must wade to get to the best spots, you don't fly fish from the bank, you do it from the middle of the stream. If I cannot do what I have always done, i.e. walk up the middle of the stream, then I cannot fly fish without going to a fly fishing camp (along with 1000's of others, or purchase miles of land just to have access to feet of it.

My entire research was in Fly Fisherman Magazine Jan 2007 issue. Fly Fisherman Magazine is not renown for being a right wing Republican magazine. If anything, its more environmentally friendly than I am.

So, attacking me was pointless and truthfully, made you look a little stupid.

By the way, are you trying to tell me that the Maharishi Yogi is a well known Democrat????. I just thought he was a left wing fruit cake to be honest

Oh, one more thing Sam, I was most assuredly not referring to you when I mentioned the Maharishi Yogi. I remember him from the Beatle days and did not link him with you. Is he your spirtual leader?

Actually, I thought you would agree with me on this one!!!! Goes to show that partisanship wins out over thoughtful discourse everytime

I am sorry Nathan. Maybe this time you were not attacking me. Maybe I thought that because you have repeatedly called me names including yogi , liar etc in many of your posts you were doing so this time. Maybe you were being kind and really wanted information since you directed the post to "someone from Oregon". The reality is you began a thread about outdoor recreation in Oregon. Obviously I am the only poster from Oregon and I have mentioned one of my interests is outdoor recreation. Then you chastise me as a know it all when I research the issue and comment even though you asked for someone from Oregon to comment.

This is a partisan issue in Oregon and because usually you do immediately jump to supporting the republicans I might have assumed you were doing so as you have in all your other posts.Because you did not provide any links or specific information or research I found it for you.

Nathan could explain why for the third time you start a thread about an issue close to where I live and about my personal interests than critisize me for it when I answer. I would expect any poster to be able to intelligently answer a question from their local area about one of their interests. Yes you mentioned a magazine but 5 minutes of news search found the case, the lawmaker and the story. You relayed the story in a MISLEADING way stating the State of Oregon was imposing this when it was one republican backing a wealthy republican landowner. It was very partisan issue in Oregon. It was not a yuppie but one of the wealthiest families in Oregon for generations that tried to restrict access.

I apologize for assuming you directed the question to me. I was not aware there were other posters from Oregon you directed it to. I apologize for assuming the yogi was namecalling to me. You have called me that on 3 occaisons which I ignored.. I made that assumption because although I have never once addressed it until this thread you have called me the Oregon yogi, a liar and a know it all when I answer threads you begin about Oregon or my field of work. I should not have assumed this was a continuation of your history. Not once in all the namecalling, personal attacks and threads you have begun have I responded with anything but information on topic or kindness and ignoring your pettiness.

I am not perfect nor do I know it all. I do try to only post when I think I can contribute something to a thread. Would you prefer I post on threads I have not researched or know nothing of so you will feel better about yourself? I enjoy posters that share their experiences and knowledge and do not feel threatened. I give you my sincerest apology that I answered this question about my state and one of my hobbies. It upset you I was able to research and answer it. I am sorry that I assumed after repeatedly being called names by you I thought you were up to your old tricks. I am sorry that when you posted the question for someone in Oregon I was naive enough to take it seriously.

Well I am leaving for work so please enjoy your day and Peace Nathan.I have nothing personal against you. You seem like a proud grandpa and only after at least 15 posts of personal attacks did I even notice your posts.

First of all I did not attack you when you responded to my post. I told you you could go to Barnes and Noble and get a copy of the magazine. I have never directly called you a liar, I have said and I will say again you remind me of those high school know it alls that had always one upped you whenever you said you did something. I am not the only person who has made that observation.

I have never said anything about the Maharishi Yogi in regard to you.

You obviously did not read my original post, you merely assumed because I used the word Oregon that I was speaking of you. I was asking if you knew anything about it and frankly, as I said I thought you would agree that this was wrong. I don't know who is in charge in Oregon, I assume its left wingers since they seem to do so many left wing things there. It is a blue state isn't it? But it doesn't matter to me which side is doing this, its the fact 230 years of tradition is being destroyed by those with enough money to get their own way. I don't know the political party of the woman who shot at the fishermen, it doesn't matter.

No, you wanted to vent because you don't like me, fair enough, I am not fond of you either and tend to laugh at your post as pompous.

I really did not want this to be a "I Hate Your Political Party" I was interested if anyone had any additional information on this trend. I don't want to get into a pissing contest with anyone about this, its too important for that.

If anyone has any other input on this I would love to hear it, otherwise, lets move on

Interesting. I have family and friends in OR, will have to ask them. I do know this is also a problem with hunting on land in MI.
