Default Change in the air-wind power is then future

About a week ago I posted how well England was doing at developing alternative pwoer sources. The I read this week Southern California Edison signs biggest U.S. wind contract (http://www.goodharborreport.com/node/868). I found this interesting since there were comments made that it currently was not profitable to exploit wind power. I think this just demonstrates how Americans are unwilling to move far from status quo.

Oh forget it in general we are pathetic when it comes to status quo. We lost our moxy. We used to be at the forefront of all kinds of inventions. Now we just bloat up on our past & let all the other nations refine our ideas. While telling each other, change is hard.
It's hard because our fat lazy asses can't get out of our lazy boy chairs. (These are all metaphors for our mindset-(poetic license)

Too much of the "not in my back yard" syndrome here.

I am an American and am very eco friendly and opento the concept. We actually passed the wind mills in 29 Palms, CA, this past week, it was truly amazing. While it's a great concept, alot of regions in the US don't have alot of open spaces for the wind mills or specialized turbine services.

Its the same as drilling for oil down in the Gulf; people are worried about destroying their "prestine views" of the Gulf from their beach homes.
