Yes it definitly would. Just take a look at the middle east. All of their problems and also all of our interest in the middle east has to do with one thing. OIL This is not just an economic question, but also a national defence question. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind. The answer from every american should be yes.

Al Qiada's qoal is to drive us out of the middle east. Why are we even their and why have we always been there? Our dependancy as a nation on oil. So one could make the case that the genisis of the whole "war on terror" stems from our presence in the middle east and dependence on oil. Changing our energy means is the first step towards resolving the "war on terror".
