Interesting. Why didn't anyone make a fuss over that?

Why would anyone?

They had a partnership in the UK going back to 1989, so when it happened it seemed more natural. Also, most people really don't consider Canada to be a "foreign" country. Finally, Coors is 3rd largest, and hardly the Icon of America that Budweiser is.

That being said, i agree with Patriot on this. I will also predict that the foreign company will lose money almost as much as Mercedes lost on Chrysler.

They know how to brew, but their marketing department sucks? Buy stock in Coors/Molson.

My point was more around that I believe Budweiser has retained its position primarily because it is seen as the all American Beer. Once that icon is lost, I think a lot of the loyalists will defect to other beers.

I could be wrong on this, I know that I am allowing my bias to get in the way of pure rationalism. I cannot for the life of me, believe that people actually drink bud solely for the taste, hence my belief.

It is an organic beer Tak. There is no meat. It has a small carbon footprint and is more environmentally correct because it is 99.99999% Water. Thin Al-you-minium cans and minimal destruction of trees to provide the thin cardboard boxes. It is the beer that environmentalists worship and consume.

Bud Light was the most popular beer in the European countries I have visited and the following are true.

American music is the most popular and news in America takes the headlines in Europe.

Europeans are obsessed with Americans.

Of course they are, America is without a doubt the biggest influence in their lives besides for the policies enacted by their own government, and even those policies are greatly influenced by what America does and doesn't do on the world's stage......hence the fascination, jealousy and animosity from foreign peoples.
I can certainly understand the foreigners position of gravity when ascertained by the USA's influence on the rest of the world, but the self-loathing, leftard, American liberal that takes issue with it's own without good reason, just leaves me without a clue.
