Has anyone really said this isn't happening around the US? You'd have to be a pretty big idiot to ignore the fact that foreclosures are up. The difference is that some see it as a simple "Bush did it" while others see there is far more to it than some simplistic partisan .

As to the story, did you read the ENTIRE article or just jump on the "Bush did it" bandwagon?

"...more than it has received in the same period since at least 1999..."

Now lets see. Since at least 1999...hmmmmmm...now who was president in 1999? No, it wasn't Bush. Now what was that fellers name? Oh yeah, Democrat Bill Clinton.

So it would seem there were evictions during that period too. Which would mean evictions aren't some new thing. Imagine that!

"The problems, she said, began about a year ago when the ESTRANGED FATHER of her children lost his job at a mortgage company and STOPPED PAYING regular child support."

So by your reasoning, Bush is also responsible for dead-beat dads. Surely thats a new thing too. And you have nothing to say about the dead-beat. He has no responsibility in any of this, right?

"She said she would find work soon and so would her boyfriend...".

You don't see a problem with that one either? Of course not. I mean really, c'mon now, what kind of world would we live in if you were expected to work to pay for rent? Its just not fair. Next thing you know, grocery stores will start demanding payment before you walk out with the groceries!

The foreclosure rate is sad. People losing their homes is sad. I can guarantee that just saying "Bush is bad" is NOT going to fix it. Maybe, just perhaps, there might be some underlying problems that need to be solved? Nah, "Bush is bad". Now its fixed.

There was a story in the paper here yesterday about home foreclosures by Homeowner Associations. One couple lost their home for $580 in back association dues! After the attorneys get done, of course, the bill was much higher. Still, over $580 a family lost their home. You want to get mad about an injustice? Try that one. I'll back you all the way.

And just for informations sake, Bush was not even mentioned in the article. Even the displaced homeowners were mad at the association...not George Bush...damn.

Good post but this report is leaving out a key element.

McMahon's mansion was condemned for mold infestation that stemmed from an unrepaired water leak. He could not sale it and it would cost millions to get rid of the mold problem.

Your post does point out that people usually create their own problems through neglect and/or bad judgment, then they lose their home.

The tenet is not told on a Monday morning "Oh by the way, you have to move" and then on Tuesday his belongings are put on the street. The dwelling must be posted with the eviction notice and then an order from a judge must be given. The tenet has every right to protest the eviction and in many cases an extention is given if a case is made. Its very difficult to actually evict someone in Florida if any kind of attempt is made to resolve the issue. My wife was an appartment manager for 15 years in Jacksonville and this was one of her complaints, that you couldn't get people out when you really needed to. Once again our resident boohooer Lexi has taken up a cause that isn't really a cause.
Well, my post was basically in agreement with Lexi's position that maybe the billions spent in Iraq could have been better spent here......

Okay, I'll try and not make the attack personal. (try)

I go along with Wow, if Lexi is so concerned she should give more of her money to these people rather than depend on stealing from the rest of us
I think you should recheck the amounts of rent in Miami and all of Florida, it's not the same as when you lived here a hundred years ago.....

And the question I have to ask you is why doesn't it bother you to send your money (taxes) to other countrys to help them out but you act like a shithead about helping out your fellow Americans?????

And just like you I have nothing to give since I MUST help support every other country in the world.. What a shame, we help others that hate us and can't even help our own.

Teak, do your homework.....The majority of people losing their homes are no where near the level that Ed McMahon is...

I moved out of Florida two years ago, June 10 2006 as a matter of fact. My daughters still live there so sweetheart it wasn't 100 years ago.

You are a fraud to put it politely. You want me to give to help others but you don't want to do so yourself. BTW, where did I say I did not want to help? I am more than willing to help those who are in the position they are in through no fault of their own and I do. You are a fraud period

Again, if the rent is too high in Bal Harbour then move somewhere else. You seem to believe that any decision is the right decision because its up to someone else to bail them out.

You are the fraud Natty, I never asked you to give help to others. All I've been doing is showing that your Bush economics are just a bunch of shit.

But it's OK with you that the Bush government is fighting an illegal war and we're paying for it plus giving aid to all the other countrys in the world???? Now that's what I call a FRAUD Natty...

If you were doing that, fine, but as others have shown, you have done no such thing. You are merely an idiot who honestly believes that the homeless problem that dominated the news from 1980-1992 actually disappeared the next year only to reappear in 2000. The question of when it disappears again will be the result of bias, not the result of policy changes.
