Default Indonesia Pulls Out of OPEC

"Indonesian energy minister said Wednesday that his country is pulling out of OPEC, because it is no longer a net oil exporter. Purnomo Yusgiantoro told reporters it did not make sense for his oil-producing nation to be a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries at a time when domestic reserves were drying up and consumption increasing. "We are pulling out of OPEC,'' he said."I will sign the papers today.''

Its all the fault of environmentalists that just won't let abiotic oil refill the Indonesian oil fields.

Indonesia is slightly over twice the size of Texas.
Environmentalists are preventing the US from being a member of OPEC, thusly keeping the US from having more control over the price of oil.

In the 40s Texas and Oklahoma, about the size of Indonesia, exported oil to the world, but then in the 50s production increases stalled and then started falling.

Is there a pattern here?

A nation exports oil for a while, then the production stops climbing, then internal demand consumes all and then more of everything produced, and then exports end.

In the 70s the US embarked on a big program of drilling to become energy independent, then Reagan was elected and the US started importing more and more and more.

Reagan set the standard which is to deplete the US oil fields, become more dependent on foreign oil, and become twice as dependent on imports, threatening national security.

And the environmentalists didn't force Exxon and Chevron and Shell and other US oil companies shutdown production, exploration, and expansion of oil on the Federal land that had been directed by Congress to be made available for exploration in the 70s and very early 80s.

And Reagan and then Bush did nothing to lease out those areas, so it took the Clinton administration to put in place a plan for leasing out oil fields in Alaska. But the Bush adminstration stalled on putting the leases out for bid. And the oil companies haven't been that aggressive about exploring and bring them into production.

Hahahahahaha
I must say, you were skillful to not mention Jimmy Carter, eventhough, Iran, environmentalists and Carter masterminded the oil crisis of the 70s.
This is when Democrats in Congress started blocking domestic drilling.

Remember the nuclear winter that would last 100 years?
I remember a Time Magazine issue that had a portrait of a nuclear winter on the cover.

We are seeing the exact same scam, except we do not have an idiot telling us to sleep in our winter coats. LOL

Ut oh, Obama will now want to give Indonesia $500 Billion of the US taxpayer's money each year under the cover of "Kill world poverty" or "We are going to take money from Americans and you can pollute all you want" or "Children are dying and it's America's fault"

Well, if you think that nuclear winter is a hoax, then you don't have any problem with terrorist getting a few thousand nuclear weapons. Sure some people get killed, a few hunderd big cities destroyed, but after that, everything will quickly return to normal.

Of course, we don't really have any idea what the effects of a large scale nuclear war is, but I hope you try it out in a couple of decades when I'm dead. If there is an after life, you can look me up after you die from radiation sickness or cancer and tell me whether you or Carl Sagan was correct about nuclear winter.

Reagan toyed with the idea of nuclear war, and then he thought the better of it, figuring that going down in history as the president to bring war to the US with massive destruction wasn't the legacy he wanted, even he defeated the Soviet Union.

Only people like you want to have a global nuclear war to prove that nuclear winter wouldn't happen.
