Your problem is that you try and take the definition of Socialism and make it fit into a different term and then when someone presents the truth to you you try and negate it because it doesn't express things as you wish them to be...seems pretty foolish to me but I defend your right to be that way...carry on.
One must also take into account WHO wrote the dictionary. It's much like one taking into account the source of their news. For example, if I hear or see something on the Communist News Network, I understand there's probably much more they're not telling us because it isn't politically convenient for them.

I love how liberals try to assert that they're somehow intellectually superior when, in fact, their philosophy is based soley on feelings.

Dictionaries are fine for generic definitions. However they suck for specific definitions. So it is good for defining what conservatism means generically, says very little about what conservatism means in 21st century American politics.

Hey Chuckle Nuts, why not temporarily nationalize the oil companies to help pay off the Iraq war debt!!!!!

The next president should TEMPORARILY (Perhaps 2 or 4 years) nationalize oil, banks and foreign owned farms. The foreign ownership in this country is scary to me. Most countries do not allow foreign owner in their countries we should have the same kind of laws.

I'd nationalize the military industrialize complex as well and make it a govt owned entity since we are talking about keeping our national defense strong. The private defense corporations like Lockheed, McDonal Douglas, Northrop, SAIC, Haliburton, KBR, etc would not be front runners and heavy hitting decison makers anymore.

The money saved would go right back into military personnel systems, equipment, benefits, pay, training, rention, quality of life, and pensions

This Country has sold its sovereignty to the highest bidder and the American Public are the victims of Corporate greed.

I've always wondered what the Socialists would target, for nationalization, after healthcare. Maxine let that cat out of the bag, and now Rasta wants to target military contractors. How long before it transportation, the stock markets, food production, and the media.

Sounding more and more like a slow progression toward the Cuban and Venezuelan model with every passing day.

We've never seen an example of a utopian socialist society, yet they believe we can make that happen here in the U.S.

That's because Americans have been supporting these Socialist societies since WWII.

Americans are buying $2 Trillion worth of their products each year.

WWII is over and done, it's time for the EU to compete with Americans.

How can anyone be proud of being a Liberal?
