I brought a load of Jiffy-mix to a Wal-mart distribution center and they wanted to charge me $75.00 to unload their freight. I called the broker and talked to him and even he wanted me to pay it...I told him that my rate would have to be raised to include this bullshit..he would not fax me a new rate sheet..so here I am, suck with 42,000 pounds of fucking jiffy-mix on my truck and I'm being extorted just to get this shit off my truck..so I find a chick working in the office and sweet talk her into unloading me while I get a com-check ready.

After they unload me I get back in the office and another chick signs my papers..I'm just about 2 steps from the door when they remember that I haven't paid the "unloading fee" I tell them that the name and number of the broker is on the paperwork and he won't pay me the fee so I'm not paying you.

They tell me that if I don't pay them they will lock the gates and I won't be able to leave, I said "yea..Ok" and head out..I get to the gate and a security guard is standing in the middle of the road blocking my exit..I lay on my air horns and mash the throttle...

They actually start following me up the road!..I pull into a truck stop about half an hour later thinking I'm good. I get out of the truck..two Wal-mart security guards walk up and tell me that the police have been called because I stole from the Wal-mart dist. center! I told them to get fucked and get back in the truck..As I'm leaving I tell them that I hope that they have a full tank of gas, 'cuz I'm heading to Ohio..( this was in south Indiana ) and they are more then welcome to follow me..

Never heard another thing about it, except that the broker called me and asked what happened..I told him that he has a bill waiting there and I won't haul anymore loads for him.

After that day, I will never haul another load for those scum bag bastards.

Frankly, this nickle and dime shit is how MOST rich people get that way.

I had a woman call me and ask me to do what I do for a living at about oh, 1/2th of my normal fee because he was going to send me 80 units at once.

I laughed. I said I could drop my fee by about 1/3 if I got ALL of them, up front, and paid that way, too. She was absolutely scandalized and claimed that she simply did not have that kind of money to spend. Now, keep in mind that what I would be doing here would involve about $16 million of her (actually it was her dad's) wealth. My discounted fees would come up to less than $10k.

She was actually screaming at me that I needed to drop my fees to a bit more than half what I wanted to charge as if someone sitting on $16 million could give a rat's ass about stroking a check for a lousy $10k.

I hung up on her, laughing. She probably found some moron to do the work for her at that fee, and as I told her at the time...you get what you pay for.

But the reality is this sort of shit is exactly how people and companies like Wal-Mart GET so rich.
