You are one dumb motherfucker. If you dont show where you got this shit. The assumption would be you pulled it out of your ass and thus searching for it would be futile.

Interesting...the only posts in here that are even attempting to argue with the OP, are those howling about as how the tar' recyclin' plant is layin' off (and therefore this data MUST be lies--LIIIIEESSSSS!!) or that since I did not (and will not) provide a link--LIIIIIINNKKKKKKK!!!--why of course _I_ must be a LIARRRRRRR!!!
Are libs EVER able to engage in discourse without their first and foremost assertion being "you a LIIIIAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!"?
Ever?
I guess not.

Oh, sure...Dwayne and Dwight may not've seen a "new plant" built in these here parts for some time, but um...then thar's them numbers....
Hmmm.
This is not "asshole beeeencounters" or "economic theory" (I'm guessing that second one is something you read of the back of a cereal box) it's a story in an otherwise left-advocacy media (buried in my paper, where I found it, just after a story trying to say that the stock market is in deep doo-doo because the Fed only cut the marginal interest rate this much, rather than that much and the stock market took a dive so noteworthy, even the nightly "news" did not bother mentioning it...) showing that (in case the subtlety escapes you Dwaye...or Dwight, which ever of the Redneck Twins you be, that manufacturing revenues (not to be confused with "revenooers" in your neck t' the woods) were up last year and are expected to climb much higher this year, and indeed were up over service sector revenues (meaning they garnered a larger share of the over all market) last year and will likely be up over them again next year.
Now, you, in your blind fury because they been layin' off down to the tire recycling plant, call this "beeean counter" bullshit, but the numbers are what they are, and the guys in the suits who do the projections for what their companies will need to buy to continue operations next year are not in fact, the CEOs with offshore accounts, but guys who have to go down to the plant floor and find out what primary, secondary and sometimes tertiary materials are needed so that they can keep MAKING the PRODUCTS they make here in the US of A.

Funny thing about numbers they can be made to come out anyway they want them to and you knowing so much about the field you know that huh. China is not whippen the living shit out of us since good ol bill handed them the golden key either huh. Numbers show that unemployment is way down also but they don't include that they don't count people that don't sign up or those who go back on. It's funny how some people think everyone is so stupid that live and see it is getting worse every day but then there are those that put there heads in the sand and say oh but the numbers show. Show what that all is good ya but good for who? The middle class is getting the shit beat out of them.

LOL.
Yep, numbers can be used to convince you that the sky is down and the ground is up.
If you are willing to be convinced of that.
In this case, you have to already be running around, waving your hands hysterically over your head while shrieking that the sky is falling.
Otherwise, I guess you'd have to show me something that indicates why/how the figures I presented are cooked in the way you are suggesting. They seem pretty straightforward to me, and derived from sources that can be viewed as generally reliable.
Is China "whupping our butts." Um...no, not so much. China is an emerging economy that is booming. You, as with so many, who hold Keynesian economics, or worse, Malthusian economics, believe that economies are static...as of today. So the US economy is "in decline!!!" (false) and though even if you believe this for today, you thereby must then believe that in the past it was not in decline (even Keynsians have a hard time getting around the old what goes up, must come down dictum) so, how can it be static in the first place; moreover, how's comes this only applies to USian economics and not Chinese? While you believe that the US economy is in decline (demonstrably false; but of course you believe "they" are cooking the books, so no matter what I show you you will say "jet contrails! UFOs!! Area 51!!! Illuminati!!") and that this is now an irreversible state, the Chinese economy, despite the necessity of stasis in your economic "theory" is growing and will, therefore ALWAYS grow.
This is why it must be so confusing to be an anti-American, anti-Western, anti-reason lefty....how on earth do you keep all this nonsense straight in your own head?
Oh, that's right...you just claim that anyone with the facts is "LYYYYIINNNNGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!"
Easy as pie!

You are most assurredly a breath of fresh air.
By the way the ISM is the old National Association of Purchasing Managers and has long been the "go to" guys for the state of manufacturing in the United States. I have attended several of their conferences and even was a guest speaker on transportation issues in San Diego several years ago. What an honor that was.
You are right, the ISM or the old NAPM is made up of plant and purchasing managers for companies manufacturing in the United States, of which there are still zillions of companies.

Nathan:
Don't tase me, bro!!!
Hey, thanks, I appreciate it.
I'm guessing you are like me and are also SICK AND FRICKIN TIRED of all the doom and gloom we hear from EVERYONE about the US economy....I ask people: go outside and count the starving, beggar-children dressed in rags you see on the street; tell me where the soup lines are (I love a good bowl of hot soup on a cold winter afternoon!), where are the homeless fathers selling apples and pencils on the street corner to feed their starving babies?
Funnily enough, few take me up on that challenge.
Then you get solid numbers from this association (glad to hear from someone with some personal experience with them--when you were at that conference how many babies did you sacrifice and what color are the hooded robes they wear?) like this one and out come the loons and the doom and gloomers...of course, this was not front page and above the fold in my Morning Screed, but buried in the middle of the business section...surrounded, I kid you not, by shrieking stories by local reporters who I know (from dealing with them) couldn't tell a debit from a credit in the ledger if you held an AK to their empty heads, about how, well...yeah, but other than that...it's TEOTWAWKI!!!!! Run! Scream! Hide!!!
Sheesh.
And note that nobody (save you) responding in here has had anything to offer other than to claim that anyone who doesn't "know" that nobody makes anything in America anymore and that all any of us do is serve water and bread to each other at Olive Garden, clean hotel rooms and bathrooms or sell each other cell accessories at the mall, is either a moron or a LIIIIAAARRRRR!!!
Meanwhile, my income keeps going up and I happen to work in one of those "bubble" industries that is reportedly in the trash right now and only getting worse.
Damn! I must be some sort of wizard, huh!
Wait'll I tell my wife!

I work in a bellwether industry, transporation. If we ain't a makin nutin than we ain't a shipping it either. We are shipping more and more and more and more every month. We have a driver shortage that is driving the cost of shipping up almost as fast as the increase in fuel prices.
Income is up
sales are up
savings are up
stock market is mostly up
gas prices are coming down
BUT THE ECONOMY IS IN A SHAMBLES

You would not believe them if they were tattooed on your ass. You might like the tattooing process however.
He told you where the statistics came from and you refuse to believe. So, go about your business in a fog if you want.
