Default Why no one can take credit or blame for the economy.

Ask any economist and he will tell you. The economy runs in cycles of boom and bust.
And most will tell you that the Bush tax cuts were like throwing a rock into the ocean....a few ripples but no tidal waves.

actually sparky you can Clealry credit the Bush boom to his tax cuts. The employment numbers dont lie. And neither do the GDP numbers.. Oh and ofcourse the tax reciept numbers (record setting by the way)

And Jimmy Carters Presidency didn't come come close to sounding the death keel for America? Remember him? ONLY President EVER to manage to get America double digit inflation, unemployment, and intrest rates. Even for a Dem THAT was tough to accomplish.

Default National Chamber Of Commerce says different

Was watching c-span a couple of weeks ago. The congress had the big wigs from the National Chamber of Commerce and some of the nations leading economists testifying about the US economic out look in the next five years and then ten and 20 years down the line.

Sorry to say the picture looks bleak. Huge recession if not a depression in the next five years. With no manufacturing base left a economic crisis looms. Can't run a country on service industries seemed to be the general idea behind what these guys said.

I agree! Been saying it for the last ten years.

hope you guys know how to grow a garden and skin a possum , because the time is coming when you will need to know how to feed yourself's.

Gold is up 20% in the last 12 months. Anybody want a deal on a few Krugerrands, or Swiss Francs?

Default Gold is not as valuable as medicine and ammo will be

Gold is a good thing to have.

At least until people figure out that they cannot eat gold.

Then medicine , coffee, ammo, and whiskey might be tradable goods.
