The reason our troops are there is to hold control of South Central Eurasia where future oil reserves are located. Our existance in that part of the world will only increase to keep Russia and China (our 2 biggest threats) out. It is the Geopolitics of oil.

um the Russians don't need the oil from there. The Chi-coms will get their energy from wherever they want. We don't really need it because we have huge reserves within our own borders if we were ever allowed to get at it.

The amount of oil said to exist in the countries in which are located between Iran & China are phenomenal and will be in dire need in the future. To think for one minute that neither Russia or China would have interest in it is preposterous.
