There is no point in holding prisoners to try and reform them
hopefully they are guilty. hard to reform a person that did not do what they are accused of.

No, a jury sentences a convicted felon to death to attempt to dole out some justice for the victim that was not given an appeal for mercy.

By employing a death penalty, people who didn't value their lives enough to make a smarter decision in the first place are just getting off easy. Put those people to work or set up some darn labor camps, but first make those prisons more secure and safe for inmates.

I am generally against the death penalty but my beliefs are not firm enough on this that with the right evidence I could change my mind. This is a tough issue. I will say now that we do have DNA evidence it does make somewhat of a case. Because I am older I have seen cases where the death penalty was carried out on circumstantial and i think that is immoral.

On this subject probably one of the best movies(only for the serious movie viewer) was a film TSOTSI. It is in subtitles yet very easy to follow and a moving story of redemption. It was a novel but based on a real crime. Go see this movie if you have the opportunity. Concerning the main character....Would you want him to have the death penalty or rehabilitation.
This movie is being viewed in ethics classes and is phenominal.

It's a tough, tough call, but in some cases I believe murderers have become non-human anyway.

At last someone here is willing to address who is going to pay for warehousing someone that chose not to fit in our society.

I am not sure how much longer the tax payers are going to let their money be wasted.

Enough already from the bleeding hearts! Bring back public crucifixion for the murderers in our midst and pay the Russians to re-open their gulags for lesser felons and send them there. Crime would drop like a stone.

>>>When it comes to wasting money, the cost of maintaining killers in prison for life pales to insignificance compared to the cash Bush has pissed away over the last four+ years.

Before you go crazy, Christian, ask yourself how many people Jesus signed death warrants for, eh?
