Exclamation Trusting our courts...Yeah right

Our courts are corrupt and the people in wich who run them aren't doing right by reducing sentences even for those who plead guilty. If we cannot trust our courts then we cannot trust our government and if we cannot trust our government then who can we trust?

It's a trade off. The people get a conviction with less court costs. It's not ideal but close. In some cases "the hard to prove" we may never know otherwise "without the plea". I don't think it's corrupt though. The system has just found a way to trim costs. Otherwise we would just bitch because it cost so much. I'm sure that it wouldn't take to many not guilty pleas, demanding jury trials, before the system would become uselessly clogged. One other thing, not all crime will be plea bargained. I think you can trust the courts, you have no other choice, that's what they do, their word is final

I hear ya For some strange reason, I'm thinking, you've been directly affected by at least one of the wrongs you write about. I'm not saying we should trust the government or any part of it. But how would we change all these "wrongs". Surely not one at a time, it would take forever. In fact that's alot of the problem, the time it takes to change anything is insane! It's totally impossible to tackle the issues, our nation has become crowded with the wants and needs of everyone each being different. It simply cannot be addressed in its entirety, there are to many voices to be heard above the roaring. Some will be unhappy. I know we just can't stand here and do nothing, but to tell you the truth, I have no idea where we begin. There currently are hundreds if not thousands of issues that face this nation. What will we do ?

You my friend are indeed right. However, if the issues at hand get taken care of immediately, Don't you think we'd feel much better? see what we lack is timing and speediness to take care of the issues. well our government does. So in order for us to take care of the issues we need to do it on a timely basis. Don't you think?

Oh, I sure think it would help alot if it were more timely. Because of the way we interact with our government it's inherently slow. There's no fast track to anything, including emergencys. Even when we do get the fast track we get burned in the long run and rarely get what we wanted completely. The system of government and law can drag on for years, for instance, fixing our borders. What should be a simple solution takes an eternity and the crime continues to take place while decisions are tossed about.

The government has bogged itself down with issues it shouldn't be addressing "I'll not name them". It's to big for a central government to administer effectively, we need more than one Washington DC. Or give the power to the states and let them deal with it. Even if it were so, the wheels would still turn slowly. It's not possible to please everyone all the time, and I despise that fact that 51 percent gets to rule the other 49 percent.

simple solution for the border: put a big wall up and put guards on top...the other issues we need to deal with as they come to us. Like the catrina problem we should have dragged their butts out of the area so they wouldn't end up like they did...correct me if i am wrong...and the joker who said we should trust hitlers government...rethink those words
