Default Stephen Breyer quote

Heard this today on the radio today (Sandra Day O'Connor was on there too):

Quote:
"The purpose of the of the Supreme Court is to help our Democracy continue to run along the rails of the United States Consititution"

SCJ Stephen Breyer
I thought it was a good, short summing up of what they do...he was very well spoken on a number of issues and the guy has a great sense of humor. His summing up of the ten commandments, school prayer isssue was outstanding (and very funny); they had thought of things on this issue that I did not even realize (sort of humbling and reassuring when you here these Justices people speak). Makes me feel pretty about our SC Justices and that we might have a few more years left (a lot more) as a democracy. Both of them really nailed down the idea of how other court cases and decisions are refered to but do not "bind" a Justice into making only one solitary decision on a case...totally nuts and bolts stuff from both of them.
