I certainly would NOT advocate anything as permanent as death or castration, especially as imperfect as the US court system is today. One merely has to see the number of people being proven innocent of the crime they were convicted of.

I do support life time institutionalization with no hope of release, however.

While I easily support this law in theory the question them begs itself to be asked is this the beginning? If we are sentencing rapists to death for raping our kids then what about the elderly who in a lot of cases are just as if not even more vunerable than kids? And if we agree on that then what about adults who get raped? It can become slippery slope. As long as DNA testing confirms the rape then I have no issue with it. And for those who are against the death penalty then I have a simple solution to avoid it. Don't fucking rape!

It is not a slippery slope as far as adult rapist. The supreme court has already ruled that adult rapist can not be put to death but children are special circumstance as their whole life is messed up it is almost as if they kill the spirit of the child and many child victims have troubled lives and even after years of therapy they still are not right. These animals should be put down and in DNA cases with in one year.

Even DNA can be innacurate, unfortunatly. Something certainly must be done, however. Jail certainly is no deterent to these wastes of good fresh air and human flesh, hence my support of life time institutionalization.

I'm not disagreeing that a person like this would be better off dead, but executing someone costs much much more than incarcerating them. Appeals, lawyers, court time, etc cost a lot of money.

Money wise it's not a solid argument, and with the amount of misconvictions (even in this case some poor teen got blamed first) means that people who didn't commit the crime could end up being executed. Stick in a jail, throw away the key, if it ends up being an error, you can still let them free, if you execute the wrong person, well...
