Just thought I'd do a little copying and pasting for you wow.

Listed below is a little something we Americans call the "Bill of Rights." It's a cute little part of a bigger document called the "Constitution." Here in America we believe in "Freedom," and "Democracy." That means being able to live without the overbearing presence of dictatorial regimes. We're allowed to think for ourselves and then act on those thoughts as we see fit. In a "democracy" the "elected" leaders are supposed to represent the "People." While I understand your confusion as to this last concept due to the latest administration's utter contempt for "Democracy," and "Freedom." It really is how our government is supposed to function.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment III
No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

Amendment VII
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

Amendment VIII
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Amendment IX
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

While I agree the case you posted is obviously wrong doing on the part of the attorney. I would like to remind you that there are several (more than half) of us Americans who think King George is a tyrant. Not an American at all, and that his followers are beginning to resemble the "Nazis" more and more.

But the United States is not a democracy, it is a republic. For proof, I offer you Article IV, section 4 of the U.S. Constitution:
"The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence."

While I understand your confusion as to this last concept due to the latest administration's utter contempt for "Democracy," and "Freedom." It really is how our government is supposed to function. Not according to the Constitution (see above). In a democracy, representative or pure, the majority rules. Our system has a combination of per capita representation (The House), representaion by subordinate political subdivision (The Senate), and a presiding administrator elected by representative delegates in an electoral college (The President).

I don't belive Americans hate true libertarians not at all nor do I believe you ment it that way. What I do believe and what you ment to say is Americans HATE WHAT PASSES FOR SO CALLED LIBERTARIANS today. True libertarians do this country a great service and keep true conservatives in check and the inverse is applicable. The problem we have today is all your freaks, cults and shithead radicals hide under the vail of liberalism and conservatism. More so, way more so on the liberal side that is why people are beginging to hate them these days. They make good genuin libertarians a bad name.

Thanks for the civics lesson. I am well aware we are a democratically elected republic. The forefathers were wise in their plan; realizing that a true democracy would surely be doomed. However, Bush and his Neocon administration have completely hijacked our government. Their policies do not reflect American sentiment, values, or convictions.The current polls show this.
They have manipulated the US Constitution to protect them and thier corporate sponsor's from possible prosecution. America is viewed by the the rest of the civilized world as being run by a dictatorial regime.
America's good name and our Republic have been sold out to Haliburton, Bechtel, Raytheon, and thier ilk. True American patriots know this. It is time for this treasonous administration and his supporters to reap the fruits of agony they have sown in America and throughout the world.
