I know (and you know) that the occupation was without planning, without learning the history, culture and players in the country, was without enough troops, and has been one constant FUBAR since 4/9/03 when Baghdad fell.

I know (and you know) that our little USD 75 bn project has helped Iran become the big dog in the region because we eliminated its Saddam counterweight. (We could use Syria as a counterweight but the idiots @ 1600 are apparently too stupidly ideological to see it)

You also know that 40% (or more) of the dollar cost has been off the books, that the Iraqi gummint (and Army) is about as effective and honest as the revolving door S Viet gummints (and ARVN) were in their day.

But ol' manly will use his pithy little insults and smears because there ain;t no intelligence defense of this Admin;s Iraq policy. None.

I don't agree. The invasion was foolish - wrong target and distracted us from Afghanistan. I've never supported it, as you know.

Good point. You really need to check out Moveon.org, Mediamatters.com and thedailykos to get a good idea of where liberqals are coming from, and why the nutjobs who believe this crap would prefer telling you they're a progressive or a democrat rather than admit they're a liberal.

Perhaps there's a reason why a liberally-biased mainstream media keeps losing its audience, and why liberal talk radio was never able to get an audience. And the fact that less than 30% of the people want some government-run universal healthcare plan speaks volumes. The country is basically conservative, and that includes an awful lot of democrats. Unfortuntaly, in places like Chicago they're worried about their patronage jobs and their garbage pickup if they vote for anybody but the approved democratic hack. Which also answers why democratic candidates are always short on details about what they have in mind for us until after they're in office.
