Rob more or less cops on the street is not going to make a real difference because there will never be enough to do the job because the amount that would have to be hired the city or state could never afford. What they need to do is what they once did, first off bring back there credability to the public, then stike down all these frivalous law suits especialy ones against good samaratans helping people out. Cops need to promote civic responsability and encourage people to get involved when they see a crime going down. They can't be everywhere they need to be has , is and never will be. They need to exploit there assests that is the community that they serve. Use to be if you did something you were a hero and a good citazen now you are a vigalanty and guilty of taking the law into your own hand. I have trained a lot of deputies in hand to hand and arrest tech. and loved beating the shit out of them so much so I have had many ask me if I hated cops. My resoponse dead to there faces is no I admire and have a great respect for cops I hate a little prick with a badge. There is a definate difference and there are more and more pricks and less cops that is a big part of the problem also.
