Personally, I don't care if someone wants to burn one. But this theme of ending the war on drugs really has me confused. We talking about doing away with any prohibition on drugs? Just pot?
No doubt, enforcing drug laws does take law enforcement resources that could arguably be used somewhere else.
I've seen it posted in here and read about it in media where doing away with the "war on drugs" would do everything from lower the crime rate to reducing the prison population.
That seems a little short-sighted in view of the other social issues which attribute drug use to other problems.

Interesting article. According to this piece, 34% of the homeless have drug and/or alcohol problems. Would doing away with drug laws have any (positive) effect on the stats?
I'm not arguing one way or the other about doing away with drug laws. I'm also not saying cops are ALWAYS above reproach. I'm just thinking its not such a cut-and-dried situation and as is so often the case (think ethanol), the "easy" answer isn't always so easy or ultimately, "the answer."
