Randy Weaver was a self described separatist (and former Army Green Beret. He moved to Idaho to be just that - separate. Because of the circles he moved in , he was targeted by the feds. First he was befriended by informants , and after several LEGAL interactions , was COAXED into selling a sawed off shotgun to the informant that was alledged to be 1/4" too short to be considered legal. Weavers position was that he in fact did NOT provide the weapon illegally , but that it was made illegal by the informant or feds AFTER delivery by merely grinding an additional 1/4"off.

Once again , can you already see how ridiculous this whole tragedy is? A quarter of a fucking inch - and people are dead.

After the initial arrest , the feds now had their leverage to attempt to turn Weaver into an inside informant. They wanted him to infiltrate radical groups which he had contact with (KKK & militant militia types) and provide information. When Weaver declined, the feds pressured. That not working , they had to increase pressure.

Unexplainedly , a hearing date related to the weapons charge was changed to an earlier date , and Weaver didn't show. He claimed never to have been notified. No one ever demonstrated that he WAS notified. Now a nother warrant for failure to appear was issued , and the feds began surveiling him to see if they could catch anything else to use against him.

When marshals were poking around his property (not serving any warrant) , the family dog , with 14 year old Sammy Weaver , and friend Kevin Harris not too far behind , came across the agents and began barking wildly. Sammy and Kevin ran toward the dogs barks (as one might do). The agents , knowing the dog was giving them away , SHOT IT.

Almost immediately , Sammy , with Kevin right behind , came upon them. Some INTRUDER had just SHOT HIS DOG. Both he and Kevin were armed , as they almost always were when out in the woods , and Sammy shot at the killers of his dog. There was a firefight , and one of the marshals and Sammy (shot in the back) were killed. There were numerous shell casings found at the marshals position.

Kevin and Randy returned to the site to retrieve Sammy's body , which they placed in an out building near the cabin.

Overnight , snipers took up positions (Lon Horiuchi). They had been given ILLEGAL "SHOOT TO KILL" orders by superiors. When Randy and Harris left the Cabin to go visit Sammy's body , Horiuchi shot Weaver (no warning , just pow!) He and Harris ran back to the cabin. Vickie Weaver was standing holding the door open (with her baby in her arms) , yelling for the men to get inside. Harris was hit. Vickie Weavers HEAD WAS BLOWN OFF by Horiuchi-Violating his already illegal license to kill , by shooting an unarmed mother.

For the remainder of the siege , feds used psy-ops (including the taunt "...we had pancakes for breakfast today , what did you make Mrs.Weaver ?") , alternating with negotiation. Weaver surrendered after 11 days.

After a trial . Harris was found NOT GUILTY on all charges , and Weaver was only found guilty of the original "failure to appear" and bail violation.

They went on to sue the gov. and settled out of court for $3 mil+.

No you didn't. You said the agents were trigger happy because one of the agents got killed. I then asked who got killed and you tell us about an agent that DID NOT get killed before the shooting started, thus debunking your very own "trigger happy" excuse.
