It was under the Stalin’s regime only. In my soviet time there were quite clear rules. If you were doing something ‘wrong’, you were summoned in the KGB and warned. Then you were fired from your job. And as the third step only you were arrested and the like. Now you can say anything you want as long as you don’t cross somebody’s way in a sense of money. Politics now is money too. Rating of Putin is billions of dollars worth since if he’s popularity falls it means an economical collapse and a huge lost of money. He is not a tyrant, he is just a very practical guy
So I write all I think on any forums and the Russian ones too. The only difference that I never even talk to moderators on English-speaking forums and always have scandals with our Russian moderators at home.

Off topic and a minor rant. As you know there are many dual miliary families where both parents are deployed to the Middle East. They have to have a family plan in place where the chidren will go in case both are depolyed. One of my husband's female soldiers has 8 EIGHT kids. She's deployed to Iraq 2x both times for a year. She knew what she was signing up for as with any parent. Now, my husband is being relocated and a new female will be working for him, he's not even there yet, and she's calling and whining not to be deployed because of her small children. Fortunately, he won't tolerate that CRAP and she's being moved out of his command.
My female neighbor had to deploy when her baby was just 4 months old and the child was 5 years old.

That steriod woman needs an HONEST life to stay out of jail card. I suppose I am not a mericiful human being.

In all, I like American forums, they are really free and people as a rule are much less hostile than at Russian ones. Of course, there is always a couple of assholes but they don’t spoil anything since it is easy not to take them serious.
