This is another example of emotional Republicans not being level headed in a situation. Instead accusations and slogans get thrown around instead. This leads to wasteful and stupid deabte fillled with insults and so on.

Nobody supports a peodephile. Most likely that reality will be almost completely ingored in any discussion about this law.

So I say why fight it? Its going to be a mudslinging fest anyway so..... Fuck you Nazi fuckers....

Very true NYOB this is an issue to argue weather the law helps or not and why do those who appose it think it will not help. Well I think there is nothing wrong with the law although they should raise the age I mean 12 years old no it should be all minors they are still kids at 13,14 etc. they could make it worse on them also and make the conviction and sentencing of the convicted publicly plastered everywhere. These guys need to be to scared to commit this crime. There is one problem I find with this law and that is our legal system because it is a joke and not about proving guilt or innocence it is who ever has the better lawyer or a witch hunt look at all the convitions these days based on suspected guilt and not proof of guilt. We have to give the legal system a roto rooter first because I am a firm beleaver of the old saying also (it is better to let 10 guilty people go then to convict one innocent person)

If more laws are created, child molesters will stop molesting children the day the law is passed...NOT

If you want to help children, fund their education, make sure they have decent health care and make sure they dont go to bed hungry

and despite what anyone says, these laws are only tooted out during elections.
I'm against minimum sentences for any crime. we elect our judges, lets trust them to their jobs.

Another lie by my favorite Moloch worshiper...Most Judges are APPOINTED, not elected...and we sure need more Judges like Edward Cashman, that awarded 34-year-old Mark Hulett 60 days in jail for pleading guilty to a variety of felony sexual assault charges against a 6-year-old girl. Over a period of four years, Hulett, a friend of the girl's mother, confessed to raping the child in her own home.

only if they are over 18 but I think the law should be changed so that if the "victim" is 16 or older and the accused is within 5 years of that age it is not a crime

actually quite a few are elected. and even the ones who are appointed are appointed by elected* officials.
you've stated one case where the ruling was ridiculous. there are thousands of cases prosecuted each year, in the grand scheme of things one isn't that big a deal. (but on a less grand level, its a very big deal to the victims)
