state facts that is helpful to a topic, and you are so fucked up in
the head until you can't tell the differences, People do not have to
be a Bushbot or a Demobot to see that you're a shitstarter. You
appear to be one of them Mighty White who seem to think they
know everything about economic crisis like homelessness, and any
other crisis that's a reality.
Its to sad that someone in your family can't get caught eatting
out of a garbage can, or sleeping under a freeway bridge, and if
there was ever anyone in your family that losted their homes
you would not be talking shit like you are doing now.
There is High class people (all skin-colors) who have the same
fucked up attitude that you have, and there is people who will
NOT kiss your ass to get along with you...I am one of them.
(Now back to you Just Me). Most lenders are con artists when
it comes to handling mortgage business deals. Why do you think
that lenders are now saying....With Bad credit one can get a
mortgage loan to get a house?, but you know like I know that a
bunch of Bad credit people will jump at a deal like that, and the
clause is......skyhigh return payments.
The Government on all levels should put a stop to that bullshit.
To me most lenders are like loansharks, and of course a man
who has bad credit will jump at a chance of a lifetime to impress
his new girlfriend or wife. So there is many many ways that people
can go homeless, and where the government comes in is a law can
be created to prevent a future crisis.
In closing, There is people who used to have a six digit income
yearly until the company they worked for (either) went out of
business or moved to China. With the economics bad like it is
today. How can a person find a job paying six digits, and them
kind of jobs is no longer on the job market? Maybe I should ask
you Justme who do we blame for today's economic struggle?

I don't believe anyone on this thread is saying that homelessness does not exist or that we should simply allow the homeless to die in the street. My point was that the recent spate of foreclosures because of the so called subprime market is not forcing people into homelessness. That is absurd on its face. The homeowner had enough money to pay the lower mortgage payment, they may even have enough income to pay a higher mortgage but because of the housing market they cannot be refinanced nor can they pay off the entire first mortgage because the housing market will not allow the house to be sold for the amount of money owed. This leads to foreclosure of that specific house under those specific circumstances. This does not preclude the possibility that the homeowner cannot rent an apartment or house for an affordable rate in the same area they lived. To think otherwise flys in the face of reason.
Can anyone postulate a reasonable explanation that a high energy business executive making well above average income would, because of the loss of his job, become a homeless person eating out of garbage cans in the United States today? That too is an unreasonable scenerio. Perhaps his lifestyle would change drastically but is it reasonable to assume someone, male or female, who has enough intelligence, drive, and experience to be a manager would suddenly become unable to function? No, I don't think that it is. If such a situation does in fact exist there are more factors involved than the mere loss of a job. ( I once met a man who told me he had been forced to living on the streets because after he retired he didn't realize he had to pay income tax on his pension and the IRS took everything he owned and left him with no home, no car, no belongings, and only 10 percent of his pension, but that was our government doing this, not the loss of a job - even if he had a job the IRS would have taken his wages).
I believe the homeless are almost exclusively those with mental or substance abuse issues. I know you left wingers will claim exceptions to this statement and I acknowledge, like the man who was forced on the street by the IRS, there are those who don't fit that catagory. To merely provide them with housing will not change the root cause of their homelessness. Many of the homeless should be institutionalized for thier own benefit. Many will never become productive members of society and probably should be permanantly institutionized.
The poor and the homeless will always be among us, there will always be those who for what ever reason cannot cope in the world. For those we should give assistance but we should understand its not the fault of some malevolent entity that if only we would nationalize the steel industry for example would cease forcing normal people into homelessness.

You keep talking about lenders.. " Fuck the lenders ". THey have control
over the persons account that they issued the loan ( Meaning IF a
person is having a hardtime meeting the payment schedule the lender is
the one to call) the lender is the one who can say okay there will be a
late charge OR can say we don't accept late fees.
At that point its not about blaming a person, but its about making some
kind of payment arrangements, and that lady who had the boyfriend if
she knew in enough time she could have made some kind of arrangements.
Regardless to if its local or not foreclosurers is happening in many cities
of the United States, and I will place the blame where ever the blame
needs to be placed.
So you are telling me justme that mortgage companies isn't suppose to
show NO GRACE PEROID for longtime customers? When a person is having
a hardtime meeting a payment schedule. They should always contact
the company first, secondly have documents to back up the hardship
claim, and give the company a copy (plus keep a copy for self).
There is a law that protact people from debt collectors which is called
the Fair Debt Law. Anyone can research this law by doing a search
The Fair Debt Law, and the most important thing is to know your rights
and law.
|
Just going by your statement that it was a "...City/County law..." Sorry, the misunderstanding is on your part. You wrote it, so what part of City/County law do you not understand?
As for the rest of it. Ideally, if someone is going to have trouble making a mortgage payment, they should contact the lender and try to work something out. Some will, some won't. Unfortunately, they have a CONTRACT calling for payments. They have the legal right to expect the contract to be fulfilled.
I don't know what you expect. I've already said there were some shady lenders...already said its sad for anyone to lose their home. But not all lenders are fly-by night outfits.
The woman whose boyfriend ran off with her money...you think its fair the mortgage company be penalized for her boyfriends behavior? Wheres her accountability for her choices?
Fact of the world...hardly anyone loans money for the purpose of not getting paid back. With interest. Sad but true.
This is just the kind of crap I was talking about when I said the homeless problem won't be addressed as long as someone is looking for a single boogey-man. Forcing mortgage companies to accept rules imposed by govt will result in FEWER mortgages being available. No company hoping to stay in business is going to roll over and accept losing terms being dictated.
You ask in another post what I think caused the current economic situation...many factors. There isn't just one thing you can point to.
In the housing market...it was a cumulative effect. Simple answer is greed...on the part of lenders and HOMEOWNERS looking for the quick buck. This helped to cause unrealistic jumps in the cost of homes.
I still stand by the need for a basic economic education for would-be homeowners. So they can know what they can afford and not depend on some agent or broker that is trying to make a living on them. Education so they understand what they are committing themselves to.
You cut out those that should have known better and stop trying to get everyone off the hook, then you have manageable numbers that a local govt agency can help.

I am Talking From The Laws Viewpoint.
Regardless to if its a City, or County, its still falls under the
Constitution of the State....Regardless. You are the one who
don't seem to know how the laws are establish on different
levels. You damn right I am talking about the con-artists lenders,
and again people like you (who are better off then most) don't
give a damn about nobody but themselves.
Do you understand that lenders can not go into business without
the approval of the three Government levels?, and the ONLY time
that the Federal level cares is when its tax time. I am not confused
one damn bit believe me, due to the fact that I work within the
guidelines of my City, County, and State law guidelines.
If I should screw up (Break the law) my ass will suffer for breaking
the law, and if a lender should break the law (enbezzlement) that's
a crime. Loaning money under false pretents is against the law,
and IFa lending agent is busted by his or her company they are
finish.
Same applies to a Real Estate dealer. Laws is created to protect
the consumers. In closing, (Because I see that you want things
your way or no way at all). You need to go to the library one day,
and research ALL laws concerning this subject. THen come back
with information that's not from your way of thinking.

You have no idea about what I've got or how I got it. You assume I'm better off than most people. Maybe I am. Maybe I got that way by doing the very same thing I expect others to do...their best. It wasn't handed to me.
I had to play along with the same rules. You honor the contract you signed. PERIOD If it requires you work 2 or 3 jobs, you do it. If it means driving a beat up piece of shit to work, you do it. If it requires you to get your hands dirty and do work the elites belittle, you do it.
Contrary to your beliefs, the law exists (theoretically) to ensure both sides meet their obligations. The law isn't there merely to protect someone from losing their house. The law isn't there to bail out some woman who made a terrible decision on who to trust with her mortgage money.
Despite your grand view of yourself, people like you are why nothing gets done. I don't agree with you therefore I feel nothing for the homeless. Great fucking logic.
Try to listen (read) what is said sometimes instead of just jumping on some rhetoric based rant. You refuse to see how educating people can help them understand their RIGHTs under the law. You simply want me to agree its all someone elses fault.
Its bullshit. Instead of worrying so much about what I do or don't have, put that energy into figuring out how others can attain the same thing.
Its not "my way", its the way it is. Sorry. Lifes a bitch then you die.
I gave my two cents on how to HELP ALLEVIATE homelessness...you didn't like my answer. Tough shit.

Frankly...I really don't give a uck about what you got or how you
got it, but I am only replying to you because you seem to think that
you are a bag of chips, and some more. You just said that I know
nothing about you, and now you have turned around thinking that
you know about me...are you confused or two faced? I am stating
my viewpoint regardless to your opinion.
You the one who can't understand that you can not educate anyone
who can't read or write, and people like that comes in ALL colors, and
assholes like you can't force anyone to do what they can't do.
AS of now I refuse to communicate with you any farther, due to the
fact that you live YOUR own life, and I will live mine by helping others
who can't help themselves.
(A reminder Justme, I will not lower myself to your way of thinking
like I did in Chatrooms with you in the past, and after two years I
see you're still stuck on being stupid.)

Are you saying that someone who can't read or write can never learn to read or write? Are you saying that the "system" is what is keeping them from being able to read or write? Why are they unable to read or write? Have they come mental disability that prevents them from being able to read or write? Anyone of normal intelligence has the opportunity to learn to read and write. If they attend school and never learn why is that? Are you blaming that on the school system or racism or "the man"? If you give someone every opportunity to become productive citizens and they chose not to avail themselves of these opportunities who's fault is that and what should we do for them?
Several years ago my wife was an apartment manager for a YWCA project to help young women gain an education and job training. These were unwed mothers with small children. The "Y" gave them an apartment based on ability to pay, provided child care, GED instructions and offered very good job training courses. Very few of the women took advantage of the program, especially after the Federal goverment came in and said the Y could not make attendence in any program a criteria for staying in the apartment. So, who's fault is it that many of the girls got pregnant again and again and now 10 years later are still pissing and moaning that they can't find a job?

No Nat I am not saying that, but here is a reality piece of information,
and this is what I am talking about. I know a man who is 50 years old
from Mississippi. This guy can not read or write, but he cries from the
pain of not being able to read or write, and No I am NOT blaming it on
the system. However, the system (Government or Educational) system
can help to change his attitute. Also remember this Nat, we (all) have
our own ways of doing things, but what good is a GED instructor if a
person can't comprehense what is being taught, and you have your
viewpoint...I have mine.
What you are doing is using your ideas that YOU think is right, and you
are not realizing that IF a person do not want to learn that's on them.
Like you spoke about Sex Education (Babies making Babies). I do not
care what anyone say about a young lady having a baby. She will do
whatever she wants to do, and you can stick education down her
throat she will still do what she wants to do.
There is NO two people alike in this world, and we can not label
everyone as thinking the same way. So you think that the Government
is helping by cutting programs, cutting SSI or Welfare for those who
can't do no better? There is many people who wants to do what is
right, but they can't because of a mental or physical problem, and do
you think that they should suffer the blame?
Having the opportunitie is one thing, but not having a chance is another
thing, and instead of criticizing them why not help them? I am out in the
streets three days a week dealing with the homeless, unemployement,
and others, and I see that its not for everyone to have the great skills
you have Nat.
