I would like to hear what Petreaus will say -however I do not want it filtered by Gates or Rice. I have not had time to follow the news to hear how it will be presented- I am hoping the report will be public except for the (obviously) classified portions. An Early Clash Over Iraq Report - washingtonpost.com

What would it take for you lefties to believe the General? Could anything make you believe him? If not, then what does it matter what he says or doesn't say - if your minds are already decided.
I, for one, will believe what the general has to say. My understanding is that he is a very straight shooter. However, I still may not agree with his recommendations.

That is something you don't have in common with some of your party leaders then. Didn't they have quite a few who came out and said they didn't want to hear what he had to say a bit earlier?

I remember it being said on here and links were even provided. It was at the beginning of the new Congress.

Here is one in which the Dem leadership made a show of it by claiming "scheduling conflicts" as a reason they couldn't listen to him.

ABC News: Pelosi Won't Attend Petraeus Briefing

Later on she justifies it by saying she had a half hour phone conversation with him. Reid says he won't believe a word he says anyway, and other Dems skip out on the meetings.

These guys, who are becoming ever more powerful in your party, say don't listen to the guy. The far left loonies are taking over your party Storman, it is something that you guys are slow to realize.

When General Petraeus Speaks, Don’t Listen - CommonDreams.org

I can't get the Harry Reid YouTube page to come up, but just google "Harry Reid won't listen to Petraeus" and see another example of Dem leadership blowing the guy off.

You can also google about Dems skipping his briefing meetings . . . they sure show a lot of respect for the man, huh?

If I remember correctly, Rastaman praised Dems for not listening to the man. Like I said, they are taking over your party.

Well, if Reid did indeed say that, than he's an idiot...although neither of your links claimed that he said that. I'm not sure what to think of the Pelosi thing....I guess it depends on the quality of their 30 minute conversation.....maybe the right made more out of this than they should have. And just for the record, Dom, I'm not a Democrat....even though I lean left. The only party I belong to is one that is serving beer...

Reid said he would not believe him. I told you I couldn't get the link to work and gave you the terms to google.

Dems skipped out on meetings and you see it as a valid excuse? I guess all that war is the big issue talk to get elected wasn't all that important, what with them skipping out on briefings about the war. You can believe what you want. I am not going to have my intelligence insulted by even pretending to believe the excuses offered.
