Experience vs. Sound Judgment
Much is being said in the media about Senator Clinton’s experience over
Senator Obama’s good judgment/common sense. As rare as it may be, the combination of both experience and good judgment would be the ultimate thing for one to have. However if I had to choose between one or the other, I would go the way of sound judgment over experience. (Example) The Bush Administration had a team of well-experience, day (1) men and women; such as Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfield, Colin Powell, Condi Rice etc…Which most, if not any one of these people probably have/had more foreign experience than both Senators Clinton and Obama combined. Yet President Bush and his administration with all of their vast experience have put the Mid-East on the brink of a religious Holocaust. (Senator Clinton also signed on/Yes). Obama signed NO!
Inadvertently this would have to have an affect on America because we have such close relationship/ties with various Mid-Eastern nations. I had to ask myself, when the Red phone rang a lot of politicians picked up the wrong line, they picked up the IRAQ Line as oppose to the Afghanistan Terrorist Line!
I am not a Bible thumper but even in the Bible the prophets were people of sound judgment and common sense. (Isaiah 16:3), for those seminary scholars. Young King David exercised good judgment in slaying his foe(s) thus the Giant. Moses, who was by no means a Rhodes Scholar, exercised sound judgment and common sense in setting millions of his people free. With a little help from God of course. I’m not here to take sides one way or the other, but it would appear to me that the burden of proof would lie with Senator Clinton, and the reason I say this is because she is always bringing to bear her many years of public service. But by her own admission in 1993 (to paraphrase), she dropped the ball with the Health Care Reform Bill. Stating in part it was the lobbyist fault. However I would assume most politicians have lobbyist regularly knocking at their door for better or worse, so no surprise here. Unless there was some backroom dealings that was/are under wrap. And while I’m on the subject of under wrapping, what’s the big delay with the releasing of the Clintons Taxes? If I hid my taxes you can rest assure that the government would be garnishing my wages, my kitty liter box, my dental implants and even the dye I use to cover the gray in my hair. And that Clintons library, which is a whole nother story. If there are no unscrupulous documents, underhanded dealing involved then why can we/the public take a little peep inside .
If someone could find a key before 3008 A.D. I’d like to take a little sneak preview in that vault. Another issue at the forefront of Senator Clinton Presidential run has been the economy/NAFTA. Senator Clinton has said that NAFTA is/was good for the nation, which I am sure in many respects is true. But she reneged/flip flopped on all of that when she ran in Ohio. This is all documented if anyone wants to go to the various websites or Cable networks CNN/MSNBC debates etc, as they showed her/Hillary in those past news reel clippings elaborating/praising this piece of legislation. I respect Senator Clinton, I even voted for them/her husband, former President Bill Clinton twice, but her espousing her toughness as a fighter is turning me/many people off, including some of her colleagues in Congress.
Could this have been why she was unable to get people from her own Democratic Party to sign on to her Health Care Plan in 1993? (Her Fighting)
I have no problem with a woman as President but what troubles me is that she seems to be running largely on the basis of being elected as the first woman President which I suppose is her definition of (CHANGE) I even heard her say this in one of those CNN Presidential debate. As an Independent I don’t want to cast my vote for someone who for the most part wants to be President because of Gender, Religion or Race. I don’t believe America is concerned about who will be the first 1st Eskimo to land on the moon; I want to vote for the best person for President Period .
Senator Obama never talk about being the first Black, White, Bi-Racial, first Eskimo, or any first thing. He stays on issues, that is when he’s not being harassed by red phone calls and Monster etc…
Some people have said that Senator Obama is not the most experienced candidate in the world when it comes to foreign policy. However I am sure he has the good judgment/common sense to surround himself in his administration with people who have the expertise in this and other areas.
I believe it’s called Delegating. Many if not all good Presidents/Leaders who lack in foreign experience apply this judgment. Was it not good judgment that thrust Obama from being the underdog in Jan 2007 to becoming the Democratic front runner now in 2008, trumping out Senator Hillary’s experience? Although I’m an independent I have to give Senator Barack Obama the credit as being the real fighter in this race, because he’s fighting three (3) opponents. Hillary, Bill and McCain. While Senator Hillary is only fighting (2) two.
Another area that concerns me about the Clintons/Hillary, is the impeachment process that took place back in Dec 1998. Many of those Republican Congressional members are still on the Hill to this day. Reason for my concern is because we could be looking at recrimination in the House of Representatives with a Clinton(s) Presidency. Currently gridlock is running high in Congress among the Democrats and Republicans as we all know, so one must wonder should Senator Clinton become the nominee, we may be looking at one of the biggest political drive by shooting on Pennsylvania avenue among the candidates this nation has ever witnessed.
In closing
I pray that I use good judgment when I cast my vote in the General election as I hope most Americans will do as well. Be it Obama, Clinton or McCain.
If I could take back my forty eight years experience in life, and replace it with some sound judgment I would have married that not so handsome childhood sweetheart, who is now Bleeeping Rich.

I still can't help but to think & believe that the CHANGE that would come is mostly fiscal, and it would screw mostly us regular folks. I don't want the tax cuts killed, and sure don't want to see taxes raised higher after that. I also don't want socialized medicine so the government can tell us all who can & can't see a doctor and when we can/can't. Besides, how do those geniuses plan to pay for it??? By raising our taxes, of course. No thanks. I'm not yet drinking the McCain Kool-Aid, but I'm sure it will be tasting real sweet come November. So to all Dems out there who want the illustrious "CHANGE", I say to you: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, BECAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT, WHICH MEANS I'LL GET IT, AND I DO NOT WANT THAT PARTICULAR BRAND OF CHANGE.

Just a replyHow does a tax cut that is for less than 1% of the population for "regular people." I agree with you that socialized medicine might not be such a good idea, seems impossible to pay for. I was just wondering and anyone who chooses to reply, I would be more than happy to hear your opinion. If someone invaded our country and meddled in our affairs the way that we do other countries, what would be our response?????? So why do we feel it's our right do it to other countries? And while Hillary was the first lady, does she really have presidential experience. That's kinda like saying my wife could do my job. She hasn't made one presidential decision. Please be clear that I don't have a preference either way, just playing devil's advocate. Also, can i get one of you conservatives to please address the fact the your elected president Bush has totally screwed things up. Everything he said he would do....he lied. That's what happens when you govern the country to your beliefs, instead of what the country wants. No attention to domestic problems, only foreign affairs. This guy might go down as the most incompetant president of all time!!

Time for these two secret Turban- wearing clowns to be outedAnd you can quote the Bible all you want, sweetie.but I am a 47 -year old preachers son and do not buy the bullshit rhetoric. This is what your Holy Writ really has to say about the likes of Hillary & Barack. "And upon her forehead was written ,MYSTERY,BABYLON THE GREAT,MOTHER OF HARLOTS & ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. ..... and the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, shall make her desolate and naked ,eat her flesh and burn her with fire. I am equal opportunity so here is Baracks bible quote "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them, and Power was given him over all tribes ,languages and nations. These candidates are absolutely disgusting. Hillary is a would-be Queen of the Earth, and Barack's facade masks an equally transparent contempt for American Liberty.
As for McCain ,he is just an idiot whom I pity very much ,but will vote for Bob Barre just the same. |
