Wisconsin

Posted 04-29-2008 at 10:49 PM by J04miller
Some of you may have noticed a negative pattern in my discussion of Wisconsin weather. I'm always this way this time of year. I battle with my love of living here every year at this time. The weather sucks here in early spring.

Today was decent. The sun came out most of the day, and we may have hit 50 degrees. Tonight a friend coaxed me to do our "big walk" which is an hour of a big hill and back down. I hesitated knowing that I'd have to put on my hat and gloves to make it as the sun set, but in the end, I'm never disappointed.

First, I love to walk. Second, it was quite a nice evening if you were bundled up. What is the harm in a coat, gloves and hat? Who cares if May 1 is around the corner? Big deal! As I was walking I enjoyed the smell of bonfires and budding trees. So much hope this time of year.

I think I'll be o.k., but each year gets a bit harder.

I read a story a few months ago in Readers Digest where a guy was saying that when he walks as his kinship with mother nature grows exponentially. When he walks he only sees the "beauty" of the world etc. etc. It is a great short read, very inspiring.

That is a wonderful way to describe it. I really love nature. The soothing effects of being in the woods is amazing to me.
