I'm glad we agree. I think women have the personal responsibility to take care of their own bodies. That includes reproductive planning.

Abortion isn't birth control. Conception has already occurred.

Sure it is, it controls birth. It is not pregnancy control.

What about other forms of, shall we call them "birth hasteners" dispose of a fetus after conception occurs?
The pill? IUD? Do you not consider those birth control?

Of course, there is never a right or wrong time to have a child, but each person should be able to make the decision of whether a child will truly be loved and welcome in their lives.

Who is preventing women from making their own decisions?

Absolutely no one. But some would seek to prevent them from deciding about their own bodies.

I do consider them forms of birth control.
If a female is properly taking her birth control pills or monitoring her cycle, as my mom taught me, she knows when she is ovulating and abstain from sex during that time of possible conception.

Not everyone's cycle is so predictable.
The fact is, abortion exists for a REASON. Accidental pregnancies happen. You want to put value judgments on how a woman got pregnant, if her accident is "acceptable" or not. I fully trust women with their bodies, and prefer to give them tools to choose their own destiny as much as possible.
