He is perfectly correct. Reality is, how you preceive it can change, but it doesn't fundamentally change certain things. If you walk naked in the freezing cold for any length of time, you will get frostbite. Redefine all you want, claim that frostbite doesn't mean frostbite, argue that your preception is "different" and none of it will matter.

I do have to admit that as new age religions go "YCYOR" (you create your own reality) is an interesting one. Although I can see how it could be more damaging to those who get caught up in it than some of the other more benign new age religions.

If you view it as a metaphor, it is probably a good thing, however if you think that it is reality, well you are going to be in a world of pain.
I don't see too many of them denying the reality of gravity by throwing themselves off of buildings, so it is obvious that in reality (I love using that word here :-) they are lying to themselves.

Online the acronym IRL can mean "in real life", with the meaning "not on the Internet"[1] (see below.)
It is sometimes used synonymously with real world to mean one's existence after he or she is done with schooling and is no longer supported by parents, i.e. the practical world versus the academic world.[2] A person with experience in "real life" or "the real world" has experience beyond book learning.
Real life can be a controversial term. Some people use it as a value judgement to describe "productive" activities, specifically jobs or the support of one's family. However, many speakers use the phrase in an ironic sense to describe an alternative to their own activities, which may be valued as more important.

As far as you've described, Reality to you is an abstract thought.
Lexi,,, I'll leave you to your abstract thoughts, and wish you a quick return to Reality.
Unless,,,you've left yourself no way back to Reality.

Those abstract thoughts were also the words and thoughts of one of my professors sooooo, are you sure it's me that needs a quick return to Reality?
I've never left Reality but seems like you've never found it..

LOL, so in other words you allow Bush to define reality for you.
Pretty clear to all of us, but nice to see you are finally "getting" it.

Americans think Hollywood is reality. They believe what ever other tell then is real. They do not think for themselves and thus talking about there precetpion of relaity is a a waste. they have no real perception other then what is programed in them.

One's life must be in a sorry state if one would seek any sort of solice in a metaphor.

I suppose I can see being in a situation in which one might get temporary relief by denying reality, but there is nothing to be gained by creating a situation for oneself in which reality must be permanantly denied. Sooner or later, it catches up to you and if the story you have told yourself is considerably different from the reality of the universe, your world will be reduced to chaos and entropy.
