It does get tiring listening to Pale after a while, just same old, same old.
That's why a lot people (including myself now) just ignore him. He always wins in his mind, whether he does in "reality" or not..

OH, Our defanition was valid, as was his. But to debate a words usage in another debate? I take this as an example of why nothing gets done in washington.

perfect. famous quote from Jean Paul Sartre i have memorized for this exact moment: "existence precedes and rules essence" Essence, in this case, being the same as your word for "reality". The meaning of that quote is that "reality" does not define the terms of existence, but instead that existence procures reality.

Sartre was wrong. "Reality" defines existence. You can pretend all you want that you can fly, but without a device that conforms to reality, jumping off a building will most most assuredly define your existence (or lack of).
Most modern thought is an attempt to deny this truth. The desire is understandable, reality both sucks and is boring, however the inability to distinguish between wishes and facts is not.
