In this argument, the pro-choicer sets up the scenario "what if the woman was raped" simply to distract you from the initial dilemma of abortion and instead focus your attention on another moral issue, one which is easier to have an opinion about. In the same way, you're setting up a similar hypothetical. This time, saying, what if the fetus weren't a fetus but a fully grown black man? It just so happened, however, that your thread was replied to by people who wanted to prove the humanity of black people. But it reminded me personally of a time when we DID think blacks were less than human, and surely had we not stopped thinking that way, or rather, if we weren't ever influenced by people who thought a different way, we would have never come to humanize black people. But thats not the same dilemma exactly is it? Its similar, both abortion and racism require dehumanization, as does warfare, rape, and a litney of other forms of torture and humiliation. This, however, is where the similarities stop. Firstly, fetuses have no sentience and therefor no ability to correct our assumption. Secondly, and most importantly, its entirely useful to have a society which allows for us to kill unborn humans. Its your choice to contextualize it in two ways, one as murder, and the other as assistance.
