True Love Waits
"True Love WaitsŪ is one of several approaches to challenging teenagers and college students to make a commitment to sexual abstinence until marriage. "
"True Love Waits has launched "Takes the Town," an initiative that encourages cities to take a unified, community-wide approach to promoting abstinence by involving schools, government, businesses, churches, health organizations and others. The vision for "Takes the Town" is to help communities find solutions to reclaiming sexual purity among their youth."

Great visual.
2 people are getting married.
Behind the prospective individual is a person standing behind him/her that he/she slept with. How long would your line be at your wedding?

Now OB, you are asking people to exercise self control and good judgement. You know that we are slaves to our hormones and especially young people. We are no more able to control our urges, or put thought into selecting a mate than rutting minks. How dare you?
Well, I thought about my mate, but then I am a special case.

How dare I?
We have 10 and 12 year old daughters.
The know their education is more important than getting a quick fix.
Plus, how many teen/early 20's females really have an "O", thus, not worth it.

Abortions wouldn't be needed if people learned self control.

yes they would
accidents still happen. nto to mention non-elective medically based abortions wouldn't stop unless sick people stopping getting pregnant (and by sick I mean anyone carrying a defective gene they could pass on).
I'm fine if people don't want to have sex. but I hate this whole thing.
like the term 'purity'. what is so prue about not having sex?
and why is sex something that would make you impure?
and a love is no less true if it has sex before or after marriage.
these things tend to teach incorrect 'facts't about sex and teach women they only have one source of value- their bodies.

I can certainly see encouraging young people to refrain from sex until they are old enough to deal with the repercussions. But some people don't/won't marry, are you saying they can't have sex? Get real.

The bottom line is that we have no inalienable right to sex, but all human beings have an inalienable right to live.

I think we do have an inalienable right to sex or there would be no one to have an inalienable right to live. You wanna outlaw sex?
