I appreciate your specific responses.

So, just so I can be clear to understand your position, you believe that a fetus which means little one in Latin, so I have no problem saying it, becomes a true life person when it's toe leaves the mother's body?

I'm aware of the term and it's definition. I just feel it's important to differentiate in the stages of development with a focus on sentience and legality.

A fetus biologically becomes a baby when it is capable of sustaining it's own life outside the womb, sometime in the third trimester (long after 99% of women have their abortions).

Hiding behind label isn't going to help you to hide the truth.

Did you also not see the "developing" hand when he was at 3 years old? Same hand except bigger. Wait a few more years and you would see the same hand "developing" into a bigger adult size hand.

Of course abortion is murder in moral sense.

I'm not hiding behind anything, sparky. I'm simply using accurate medical terminology.

No kidding. However, the picture was of a gestating fetus's hand. That's what we're discussing here, right?

I disagree. Morality is subjective. I find it immoral to force women to gestate against their will.

Okay, so a premature baby that cannot sustain on it's own without machines is not human in your opinion?

Also, if somebody comes up and steals your car, you have nooo right to complain. They were tired and didn't have a car and saw yours and really liked it. Their morality tells them that if they want something go get it. If morality is subjective you CAN NOT tell them that they are wrong. If you do you have self negated which is what relativism does anyway.

It never ceases to amaze me how anti choice people try to confuse the issue by bringing in scenarios that have nothing at all to do with abortion..

Wrong. It's been born, so it's a human. It's not dependent on the bodily resources of another. Machines aren't people - we can use them as we see fit (unlike women).

Strawman! And a feeble one at that.

The law says they're wrong, sparky. Stealing cars is illegal. Abortion is not.

Feel free to try again.

Okay...I understand so if a baby is born and not dependant on another body...it is human, in your opinion. My 4,3, and 1 year olds are certainly dependant on my resources...those little fetuses of mine...can't wait til they are 18 and I can call them Human Beings....

So morality is NOT subjective, sparky, because if the LAW states something is wrong, according to you, it is wrong.
Wow, so if the day comes when abortion is illegal, you'll agree with that....that's great!!

And, Lexi, we are trying to define the stage of personhood and dependancy, my example of a preemie has EVERYTHING to do with abortion....
you guys just can't deal with the analogy

That car is not contained within a woman's body. It affects another living, breathing human beings rights and ownership. It inflicts damages on another living, breathing human being.

A woman seeking an abortion is doing so legally and it's a decision that only affects that which belongs to her own body. There's a difference.
