You are misinformed about Christian beliefs. The Christian Church is NOT completely uniform in their beliefs. Roman Catholics do oppose all forms of artificial birth control.
Protestants have no problem with the pill. I am a graduate of a Southern Baptist Seminary with a Master's Degree in Divinity,(That three years of post-grad work.) have pastored Southern Baptists churches, and am now a Deacon in an Assembly of God Church. I think I know Protestant doctrine extremely well.
We have no problem at all with most forms of birth control. Pill, foam, gel, diaphram, condom, etc is all OK. Yes, we teach that abstinance for the unmarried is better, but we also know how powerful the sexual drive is and we have no problem with something like this pill being available to keep a mistake made in the moment from ruining lives.
Once a new life has actually started, the problem becomes more complex, but that is a different topic.
