Size of the dose. The morning after pill has a larger dose. The same effect can be made my taking several BC pills the day afer. The problem with that is getting hold of several BC pills, and with knowing exactly how many to take. BC pills require a perscription.

It will be more than teenage girls that are interested in this. Many single moms are so busy that they rarely date, so they aren't on BC. Suddenly, they have an opportunity for sex and can't because they aren't protected. Now they will and then run to the drug store the next day.

Chat there you go hoping for Death again. Better watch it or someone might mistaken you for a Republican deathmonger.
The day after pill is a heavy dose of concentrated birth control and in some cases can have very severe side effects including death.
That information comes from my wifes gynecologist

That I would have to agree with you on. It probably is less painful, than a coat hanger.

I think this is a good decision to make sure it is out there...no...it should not be used as 'tick-tacks'

...and a female who is using the pill that way has far more problems than just 'loose morals.' The statistics go back into to very root causes for problems like broken homes and fosters parents. This idea that it can be fixed by telling someone to NOT HAVE SEX is just not realistic at all. Bused females...a females with drug problems...psycological problems...the list goes on folks. Any means we have to help situations that are a 'bad surprise' which will but a bigger burden on the individual and the system should be utilized.

So Christians and pro lifers are trash?

Do you know what harm those pill may be capable of or would you just feed it to your teen daughter and say "pop one every day to keep the abortion doctor away"?

Perfectly illustrating a colossal lack of understanding and grossly inflammatory language. Read up on the Taliban before making childish comparisons.

Personally I don't see a big deal is allowing this pill to be available.

Like it or not, women are going to have sex, and alot of them could get pregnant, and won't want them. The adoption idea is good; however, it may sound sick, but alot of women don't want to go through childbirth and give up the baby. The truth is they rather not have to "worry about it".

I don't think this is anybody's business except for the person taking the pill, so therefore it's a non issue.

Ohh, and the Christian taliban comment was really bad taste. They don't believe in birth control, and that's their perrogative; calling them the Taliban is just not necessary.

You are misinformed about Christian beliefs. The Christian Church is NOT completely uniform in their beliefs. Roman Catholics do oppose all forms of artificial birth control.

Protestants have no problem with the pill. I am a graduate of a Southern Baptist Seminary with a Master's Degree in Divinity,(That three years of post-grad work.) have pastored Southern Baptists churches, and am now a Deacon in an Assembly of God Church. I think I know Protestant doctrine extremely well.

We have no problem at all with most forms of birth control. Pill, foam, gel, diaphram, condom, etc is all OK. Yes, we teach that abstinance for the unmarried is better, but we also know how powerful the sexual drive is and we have no problem with something like this pill being available to keep a mistake made in the moment from ruining lives.

Once a new life has actually started, the problem becomes more complex, but that is a different topic.

I for one would like to see something about the risks of long time use of this pill.
